Stayed here is a big group in multiple rooms for a friend's wedding. Without a doubt I can say this would be the worst 5 star hotel I have received having stayed across 50+ properties.
Starting from check-in, the room was pretty dull and shabby, the linen were also dull and faded. They didn't give footwear, dental kit provided was only 1, connected to Wifi which kept disconnecting. The room carpets also smelled a little shabby.
Also there's no view from the room as the window is tiny and also really grainy and dusty.
On top of that, the biggest disappointment was the reception service. HORRIBLE! Had couple of requests and they wouldn't do it even after 2-3 calls, finally when I go down to the reception that's when something happens.
My wife had fracture in her leg, initial wheelchair provided was decent but later the one provided was really rough and had a bad sounds and rough tyre. Also since my wife had a fracture, had called the reception thrice as we needed a bucket or a stool so that my wife could take bath for the marriage event, even after that they didn't send it across. Also ever time someone new picked up the call, and would not even bother to hear the request fully before disconnecting. (Makes sense as they're in no mood to fulfil it)
I had to wait, atleast 20-30 minutes for wheelchair, had called them thrice they didn't send, went to the reception area directly and got it immediately, I mean I don't understand what was even stopping them from sending one.
Also when you usually stay at 5 star, you expect the staff to be proactive, here they weren't even reactive. I stayed there for 3 nights and water bottles were not replaced daily, had to call them for that too, also if you ask such things to the staff moving in floor, they're also lost and take so much time to get things done.
Felt as if they're doing us a favor by fulfilling any request. Also the breakfast buffet was not that great, it was just average.
All in all, would not call this a 5 STAR in any aspect, as I have received way better services even in 3 STAR. The only pro I see it the location apart from that there's nothing good with the experience as such.
Bad experience was not just for me, but everyone from my group who were staying along especially the complacent behavior by the reception staffs who pick up the call.
There's no mention about the reception number being 3, the reception button on the intercom doesn't work, so they expect you to figure that out on your own as well).
They don't provide iron in rooms, do not provide one through reception as you're not allowed to use it in room and forced to avail their overpriced facilities. So if you're planning for a event that requires good clothes and looking sharp you should avoid it (you should avoid it otherwise too)
Also one event was at the swimming pool, with no wheelchair access. The lift isn't functioning and only way to reach there was a narrow staircase. (No...
Read moreFirst of all, despite what Google searches may tell you, I'm quite sure this is not a 5-star hotel. The official website is misleading, as well. I shall attempt to explain, below.
The deluxe twin room has photos of a king bed, which, of course, is not accurate. I pointed this out at the reception, and was very nonchalantly told that those photos are actually of the deluxe king room. The only option in the website is to book now, pay later, which entails providing one's card details, including CVV. Of course, I did not do this because of the risk of my card being misused, which meant I had to book with a higher price through a travel website, which did offer me the option to pay with my card in advance.
Our room smelt damp, and there was mould in the shower area. There was dust on some surfaces. Several fittings were quite dilapidated and scratched. The set top box for the TV took 2 calls to housekeeping to start working. Despite the room being booked for triple occupancy, it was prepared only for double occupancy. It took multiple calls to housekeeping to get the extra tea-making things, bedding and towels. The latter 2 were actually quite shabby and worn out, very different from the 2 already in the room. I requested to get them changed, and they were. The air conditioning made loud sounds at regular periods, which I put down to the compressor pumping in cold air. I have never experienced this earlier.
We had breakfast included in our package. It was delicious, with a lot of choice. However, I found the curd extremely sour, and brought this to the notice of the staff, who apologised. However, it was no different the next day. On one occasion, the tea served was cold.
Overall, all members of staff were kind, polite and helpful.
I feel the hotel is in serious need of attention to detail to be worthy even of 3 stars. I wish them...

Our recent stay at Pride Plaza, Kolkata was unfortunately far from the five-star experience one would expect...behind the polished facade lies a surprisingly mediocre experience, more in line with a budget hotel than a premium one...
To begin with, there was zero guidance upon check-in...in most decent three-star hotels, staff at least escorted you to your room or offered directions...Here, we were left to navigate the property on our own, bags in hand, as if we were wandering into a maze...Basic hospitality? Nowhere in sight...
We also ordered some food online, only to be told that we had to go all the way to the lobby ourselves to collect it...Even in three-star hotels in Chennai, staff courteously deliver outside food up to the room without hesitation...Pride Plaza, however, seems too "proud" to offer such basic courtesy...
The ambiguity around what was complimentary and what wasn’t added another layer of frustration—there were no clear instructions, no welcome note, no verbal guidance...Every item in the room felt like a gamble...
But the worst part was the attitude of the manager...His behavior was not only unwelcoming but borderline insulting...He spoke to us with an air of superiority, as if we had never stayed in a five-star hotel before...His judgmental tone and dismissive attitude were completely uncalled for, making us feel belittled rather than valued...
In summary, Pride Plaza may wear the five-star badge, but beneath the surface, it lacks the warmth, professionalism, and service of even a well-run three-star hotel...Highly disappointing, and definitely not worth the hype—or...
