The restaurant is situated on the ground floor of Novotel in New Town. You have to walk through the lobby and by the Santé bar to reach the place.
Once there, the attendants greet you and take you to your seat.
The restaurant is quite large and open, but the tables are placed extremely close to each other, and as a result it looks a bit cramped.
The service is very prompt and good; the waiters are polite and doting. The managers patrol the floor and take action reasonably quickly. They are receptive to advice and suggestions as well.
Coming to the food, there is a starter counter adjacent to the live counter. There are 2 veg and 2 non-veg starters, and you can get a variety of fish and meat fried at the live counter. There are some veg options as well.
There's a soup station, and a curd station as well. Near the middle of the seating area, you'll find a salad and gol-gappa/chaat counter.
Coming to the main course, there's a curd and raita station near the area for the Indian food items. Each and every item here tasted quite good, especially the daal. There's an Asian food area, but that isn't anything to write home about. There isn't much variety, and whatever is there is mostly mediocre. The momos are good though.
The dessert area is where the restaurant shines again. Apart from a few bland items (which, oddly, look quite pleasant), most other items taste top notch. There were 3-4 varieties of Indian sweets, 3-4 varities of panna cottas, yogurts, and cup desserts, and 3-4 types of cheesecakes. You have tarts, gateauxes, and cut fruits as well. They have 6 varieties of "ice-creams" but I in my opinion, those were frozen desserts.
There was a live band, and a person was going from table to table, displaying quick magic tricks.
We got 50% off, thanks to Swiggy Dineout's GIRF. At this price, this was quite the value for money. You not only pay for the meal but for the overall experience, and the experience was pretty...
Read moreLast night buffet review - I've been a little disappointed by the arrangements made here. Few staff on the floor made it difficult to find the required food section or a particular tableware. Since the customers didn't find anyone or didn't knew whom to approach for their little queries they approached the puchka serving guy who after a while had gotten frustrated answering random queries. Size & weight of the plates were uncomfortable to carry around. Floor carpet in-between the tables with narrow spaces had got cluttered which made walking difficult holding the dinner plates in your hands. Indian breads were not ready on time & we had to wait for it at our tables which caused a bit of unease. There was just one non-veg gravy dish to be eaten with different variety of Indian breads ? You don't expect this at a buffet in a 4/5 star hotel. Mutton biryani had such an overdose of clove essence in it that nobody liked it at our table. Ice creams were literally of cheap quality except the brownie. Veg gravy dishes too were not that tasty. All in all an unsatisfactory or an average buffet at the most.
A Few good things about this place - Novotel's lobby towards the buffet restaurant is pleasing & you feel nice as you walk in. It was sad to see the poor female waiters running around to manage things but they gave their best. Indian breads though served a little late were pretty decent. Indian sweets like gulab jamun & ras malai were delicious. Starter chicken dish was well roasted. Biryani mutton was soft & rice too was of decent quality but heavy usage of clove spoiled it. The swimming pool area of the hotel was pleasing & a sight to cherish under lights.
Few good & bad things here hence the average 3 star rating. Frankly speaking a buffet at a 4/5 star hotel should simply bowl you over by the service & it's food. I have eaten at other similar hotels hence surprised to find that this was not up...
Read moreHey guys this is one of the highest five-star hotel restaurant that I visited last year. This place has got great amazing food and also as it is self service so you don’t have to wait for the food to be delivered to you. Washroom and the whole area of fooding is really clean and sanitised always and it’s very big so there will be no problem if many people are together celebrating something. But one of the bad recipe I discovered is the mutton recipe. Well all the chicken items are one of the best tested chicken items. And ice creams are amazing. And sugar patients also can have sweets because they have sugar free sweets and ice creams there. The foods are not so oily and not so rich, so any people can have the foods. The service is really amazing because the workers are so fast and they wait before you leave the table so they can clean the table as soon as possible and leave. I love the salad section because there are a lot of salads and I love to eat salads so I will give five rating to the Salad section. And what are the best ideas I had is pizza because the pizza was so amazing to taste and it’s so lightweight but even its cheesy. There are a lot of pizza items so you can choose any of them. It’s really good for your first date or your anniversary celebration. Must visit place and there are lot of people who give want to writing to the service section but I won’t give , to me they were really good they were smiling and very helpful so you can make sure that you can visit the place. But without taking the mutton you can go for all the chicken items. And also you can visit the pool side and also the side scenes of the hotel and also you can take pictures. The charges of the each plate charges every year so approximately for one person it may...
