When I arrived at the Porta by the Ambarukkmo hotel, it was already late. Parking is very limited, fortunately the hotel provides free valet parking service. It looks like the staffs are a bit overwhelmed at serving valet parking and luggage trolleys due to the large number of guests checking in. The check-in process takes a fair amount of time because the hotel staffs are really busy. Keys are only given one key per room.
The trendy and sporty impression is very visible in this hotel starting from the logo with orange lighting. The interior is a collaboration with depepedia, the concept is very good and in my opinion it is an overlook for a 3 star hotel, plus when I entered the lobby, the lobby was very fragrant, cold and comfortable. The interior of the lobby lift seems semi-classic but the interior of the corridor is sporty.
There was a clean seal at the door. It appeared that the room given to us was a Hollywood twin room but it didn't matter because there was no hole in the middle of the mattress. The interior in my opinion is a very good concept and really great for a 3 star hotel, maybe it would be even better if the workmanship of the craftsmen was also improved because it looks like there are some finishing parts that are still not touched-up and not neat. There is a combination of duco panels, white paint, rattan panels and texture paint as the interior of the room (where you can say the interior is almost 4+ star class). The lighting design of the room is also very good so as to create a comfortable ambience. Unfortunately for the work chair the backrest is not given a sponge so it is a bit hard. Porta also provides Jogja Traveling and Cullinary guide by depepedia at the desk. In the room there are SDB, minibar, water heater kettle. They Provide complimentary 2 bottles of drinking water and tea sachet tongtji and coffee sachet nescafe.
The bathroom is not very big and the bathroom interior is ordinary. The amenities provided are also standard but you can request additional amenities to housekeeping. thumbs up for the housekeeping employees on duty because they are very fast in delivering amenities request. There is a shampoo and soap dispenser but it's empty, it seems Porta is still using shower gel and shampoo in tube packaging. Towels are provided with 2 body towels. Overall for the price offered with the interior in this hotel, you can say it is very worth it.
For hotel facilities, there is a coffee shop and restaurant on the lobby floor. Rooftop bar, swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi on the rooftop floor. In my opinion, for the roof area some facilities are not in suitable place. The swimming pool is small even though it has a good view. The Jacuzzi is located strangely because next to it there is a rooftop bar table. Only the sauna that I think is good in function and placement.
I really like the interior concept of the restaurant where on the ceiling there is artwork of a ship that can move, it's very fun, the health protocols in the restaurant are also well implemented. The taste of the food is pretty standard. The menus served include Fried Vermicelli, Fried Sambal, Baked Beans, Dori Colo-Colo Fish, Fried Chicken, Chicken Porridge, Croissant, Donuts, Cake, Sweet Porridge, Fruit and Salad, Danish, infused water, guava and orange juice, coffee and tea, omelette, sausages slices, pancakes and soup. I hope they can improve the taste and bigger...

I had the experience of staying in two types of room, Deluxe and Premier.
First of all, I'd like to say I enjoy the overall accomodation. Two pillows for each bed is a definite plus for a pillow hugger like me. Then, a hand shower. Most hotels has built-in shower, so having a hand shower type is also another plus and much more flexible to use. Wi-fi is okay I guess, good speed and latency but sometimes we got dc'ed eventhough we're still inside the room and has to re-login from time to time. Housekeeping staff is responsive to our needs, friendly, and sometimes too eager. They knock on your door at noon and ask if you want your room to be cleaned, which is good but sometimes annoying if you want a good rest for a day. Make sure to use 'don't disturb' button if you're not planning to go anywhere.
Regarding Premier room. It only adds two hand towels, weight scale, hygene sets, and... better view I guess. IMO, these additional features are not worth the increased price. I also got disgusted when there're hair strands and yellow stains on the bed sheet in Premier room. This is unacceptable for a room that's more expensive than Deluxe.
Havena's food is good if you book a room included with breakfast. But not worth for the regular incidential price.
Finally, parking lot. As many has said, it does have limited space especially if you came late at night. They do have another spot beside the hotel, but I have my own skepticism for parking my car outside hotel area.
Overall, I'd recommend this place. It's still brand new and only time will tell how they could keep up and maintain their quality. For now, it's my first priority hotel to book...
Read moreI had the opportunity to visit the Batik Exhibition at Hotel Porta, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I entered the exhibition area, the atmosphere felt warm and elegant. The neat arrangement of the space and the soft lighting beautifully highlighted the intricate details of each batik pattern. Hotel Porta successfully created an ambiance that blended modern luxury with the traditional charm of Indonesian culture.||Various types of batik from different regions were displayed in a captivating way—ranging from Pekalongan, Solo, and Yogyakarta batik to contemporary designs with a modern touch. I really appreciated how the organizers showcased the fabrics. They were not only hung as textiles but also presented on mannequins, allowing visitors to see how the batik would look when worn as clothing. Some fabrics were even suspended from the ceiling, resembling waves, creating a stunning and artistic visual effect.||Beyond the visual beauty, the exhibition also offered an educational experience. Informational boards explained the philosophy behind each pattern, the natural dyeing techniques, and the process of creating batik. This allowed visitors to appreciate batik not just as art, but as a meaningful part of Indonesia’s cultural heritage.||Overall, the Batik Exhibition at Hotel Porta was a perfect combination of art, culture, and aesthetics. I felt proud to see Indonesia’s rich batik tradition presented in such a modern and classy way. This experience truly opened my eyes to the fact that batik is not merely fabric—it is a living...
