Beranda Ecolodge — Hotel in Gili Air

Taken me awhile to write this review.|We checked in expecting a no frills stay, which was as expected: basic bungalow, just a bed and mosquito net and fan. Shared bathroom. Ok facilitys. Unfortunately our bungalow was pretty dirty and dusty, needed a good wash out! ||A few hours after checking in my partner became very poorly. Not good for a shared bathroom experience and definitely not good for other travellers. We discussed with the staff and got an immediate, no refund, we charge you all 3 nights. Despite the risk of passing the problem to other travellers and against the policy of the website i booked through.|We made the decision to book elsewhere as not fair on us or other guests.||I eventually got a refund for the other 2 nights but only after extensive polite statement of the facts of the policy of the booking we had made. I never asked for a refund of the first night (despite beinf there for a total of 4 hours and leaving due to an unprecedented issue and frankly doing them and their other guests a favour) but still had to fight to make them honour their policy. ||Ultimately my impression of this place was they didnt care about their guests and would happily have let someone be very ill in their toilets and risk spreading infection around. 3 hours after staff had been alerted I had not see anyone go near cleaning the shared toilets...||Avoid||I cant place a review where i book this as the manager made me cancel my booking in order to refund me 2 nights thus why...

Natalia has opened the most amazing hostel to date, that I have stayed in. Along with her staff, they welcome you with open arms and cheerful smiles. ||I cannot fault the premises at all; amazing pool on deck with lounge chairs & bean bags. Breakfast is included which is tasty and will keep you fuelled for your day ahead. The rooms are simple with extremely comfortable beds, there is hooks for clothing If needed. And a powerful fan in all rooms. ||The staff at reception, breakfast and housekeeping are all super pleasant and always want to go over and beyond for you. ||Beranda also has bike rentals which are cheap at a cost of 40k. There is a breakfast & lunch menu too. ||The whole premises is extremely clean, with no dirt build up. Also, the showers/ bathrooms are spotless too. ||It is also a great place to mix and meet new people. I cannot recommend this place enough. Natalia runs an amazing business and I will be returning to stay here again next month. ||Natalia also helped me when it came to travelling to other places: giving loads of details & places that she recommends- which are less touristy; she also drew a map and labelled a couple of must do’s. ||It’s great to leave a place knowing you got more for your money than what you expected. ||Thank you to all of the...

We spent a night here in February 2019, place was very quiet due to low season but price was incredibly good value to say breakfast was included (free coffee too)||||Accommodation consists of very basic wooden huts with mosquito netting placed around a bed on the floor. No air conditioning, but does have a fan. They are simple, but clean. I would suggest trying to secure a detached unit as we had a joint one and the walls are very thin (with large gaps in places) so you will become very friendly with next door. Not usually an issue for back packers who are accustomed to communal living but for a couple who like a bit of privacy it was something to consider.||||Pool clean and large, shower and toilet facilities are separate to accommodation. (Also have large gaps in doors so as a solo traveller be weary if showering) Not particularly an issue again, but a heads up! Wifi was the fastest we have used in the entirety of Indonesia. ||||Would stay again....
