Warung Emak — Restaurant in West Nusa Tenggara

We are always on the lookout for local warungs and chanced upon this place while walking one of the small lanes and saw one of the signboards which showed an arrow in.

Had to walk about 50 metres into a long path and it would led you to a local house with a warung setting next to it.

Menu is limited with the usual Indonesian Mee and nasi goreng. We ordered both and veg omelette (husband thought it was more like a tortilla because the vegs in the egg were more than the egg).

Size of the food is big serving for the price charged (20-30k each), served piping hot and EXTREMELY tasty. The cook was an old friendly lady :)

We definitely think they deserve the credit and my husband decided to pin this elusive warung on the Google map.

We always prefer to support the local authentic businesses in Bali and Lombok. I ate here almost every day I was on Gili Air. Not only is the price much more reasonable than the big restaurants on the island, but the food is, in my opinion SO much nicer! There's only a few simple dishes to choose from but each one (and I've tried most of them lol) is a true taste of home cooking. Lots of flavour and also a generous portion. The omelette is amazing! Don't be put off by the dirt track to get to it, just watch your footing a bit. It's not far down and honestly, once you have tried the food it will become your 'go to' whilst here trust me haha. Do yourself a favour and understand these reviews are JUSTIFIED! This was the best nasi goreng and mei goreng we had over 12 days across Bali, Nusa Lembongan and Gili Air. The ladies are beautiful and when my partner asked for peanut sauce, the older of the two brought some out as if he was the favourite child! The prices are ridiculous and we chose to give double what we needed to because of the overall feeling of the space.
