The Omala Village is a new development, only opening 6 months ago. It is family run and currently has around 5 rooms (There are plans to expand with the possibility of a pool). ||||The location is a 5 minute walk from the pier, and is surrounded by places to eat and drink. It is set back away from the main road so is very quiet at night. ||||The owners were fantastic, gave us tips on the island, hired us bikes and generally made our stay a pleasant one. The rooms were lovely, wooden hut type design with an outdoor (but private) bathroom which was a really nice touch. Each room had a big balcony area with sofas too which are really nice to chill on. ||||Breakfast was basic, but it was freshly made (pancakes, omelette, tea / coffee etc).||||Only downside is it is very close to the local Mosque which can be quite loud a few times a day. But this is the religion of the island so it's hard to avoid on what is a very small island||||All in all, for the price of the hotel it represents excellent value for money. Would...
Read moreI fell in love with it as soon as I step inside Omala, you can tell the attention to details from the owner, who put a lot of thoughts into the design of the resort, they use as much as possible the reusable materials and reduce the plastic to the maximum, you can also tell that the staffs took good care of the resort that they clean the environment everyday.||When I was looking for the hotel on Gili Air I have a few requirements: local styled room with the traditional bunglow roof, wooden floor, a balcony where I can relax, an open shower and a beautiful pool, Omala meets every of my requirements, and it’s reasonable price! And the room is super clean too!||Omala is located in the center but in a quiet area, only 3 minutes walk from the port, very close to everything.||Overall I would highly recommended staying at Omala if you’re in Gili Air, the...
Read moreWe stayed 2 nights at Omala Village. Lovely bungalows with all you'll need and a semi-outside bathroom which is really cool. We received a fresh welcoming juice upon arrival.||We had 3 options for breakfast and it was served on our terrace in front of our room. Really awesome start to a day. (They live on the yard - just go up to them and say you're ready for breakfast.)||We could rent bikes for much cheaper than elsewhere too and I would encourage everyone to go and explore on a bike.||Water was salty, but we were warned that it happens depending on weather conditions. Not sure if this is applicable to the whole island. Water wasn't warm throughout showering - think you have to be the first shower of the day to get that. But it didn't bother us - island living is hot anyway.||All and all - highly recommended and excellent...
