How can we describe our stay at Cahaya Villas.|In one word AMAZING. |If you are after sheer luxury, unique boutique combined with elegance and a service unlike you will receive anywhere else.|Cahaya is a must.|Contact was made for our stay and from the onset the communication was second to none.|All our transfer requirements to get to the island were taken out of our hands.|From our collection in Bali to our arrival on the idyllic island of Gili Trawangan. |There we were met by Toni.|His smile larger than life.|A man of small stature, then loaded all our luggage onto his bicycle and off we set.|Again our bicycles were waiting for us at the port ready for our stay.|After a short ride, we arrived at our little piece of paradise. |Cahaya, definitely standing out from the crowd, with its pure white walls, lined beautifully by the statuette green cactus plants that add that touch of class.|From the onset, you know this is a very special place and we certainly weren't disappointed. |We were then met by Ayat, Tonis wife, with cool facial towels and the most delicious iced tea ever, all beautifully served with the sunflower lime decoration on the side.|We checked in and felt like Alice in Wonderland as we opened the door to the most inviting villa, it certainly didn't disappoint, even better than the beautiful pictures we had seen.|Both the exterior and interior of these two unique villas are to be hold.|Each lampshade individually handmade and designed by the owners.|The bedding, all crisp and clean so inviting after the trip.|From the beautiful bamboo coat hangers that sit on the hanging open wardrobe on a wooden branch, to the stunningly beautiful bathroom, with its own individually made body washes and creams.|Everything that you would and could want in luxury has been thought of.|You select your breakfast choice the previous day with a serving time and what a choice to choose from.|The following day, it's arrival will definitely not disappoint.|The beauty of how it's presented, runs with with the whole ethic of Cahaya. |It tasted as amazing as it looked.|Tonis eye for presentation was to behold.|There are additional extras for guests, from floating breakfasts, to cinema nights. The word Cahaya in Indonesian " embodies the concept of illumination, both physically and metaphorically. In various cultural contexts, light symbolizes knowledge, purity, hope, and life itself." Cahaya villas in Gili Trawangan are all this and so much more. This is our second visit to these idyllic, stunningingly beautiful villas. This time, very privileged to stay in Villa 4. One of two recent additions, which are equally as elegant, stylish and unique as Villa 1 and 2. The details that have gone into these villas are second to none. Tony and the team are from the moment you enter the world of Cahaya second to none in hosting. From the very welcome homemade Iced Lemon Tea (the best on the island) on your arrival. To their total attentiveness in welcoming you like family, you really feel very special. Nothing is too much trouble for this amazing team. The extra touches, each unique to their guests, to the wonderful turn down, with midnight munchies. Breakfast is a Michelin feast, with everything you could imagine. All served on unique and individually crated serving dishes. The unique smell that hits you on entering your room, that you wish you could bottle up and take home. Cahaya also offers exciting trips, showcasing the beautiful Gili Islands at their best. A stay here, will leave you with memories to last a life time. You, definitely will not be disappointed.
