Putra Boyan Cottages — Hotel in Gili Trawangan

The bathroom of room 6 was dirty, unhygienic and unsafe. I moved from the family room 5 to the single room 6 as I extended but room 5 was no longer available. However room 6 bathroom was the worst bathroom I have ever been in. The drainage trough that sits around the shower and toilet is really dirty, likely full of dangerous bacteria from old showers and toilet waste. You can see the dirty water and mould everywhere (again see photos). I told the staff that I was unhappy with the room the day I moved in and wanted it cleaned properly but nothing was done about it. The whole bathroom is in desperate need of renovation - the business should not subject customers to these conditions. I was ill during the last 2 days of my stay and I suspect that it may have been due to this.

You could also hear rats scurrying about above the ceiling in room 6 which somewhat put me off sleeping and added to the feeling of dirtiness.

The actual bedrooms in general were nice but could do with a lick of paint as there are marks and stains all over them.

Good service by the staff in general, particularly Augus. The breakfast is nice, especially the banana pancakes. The coffee however should be filtered more as it gets very granular at the bottom. Most of the other staff don't really speak proficient English (though are great regardless). I think it would be difficult for people without a strong English ability to stay here.

The location is good, close to the port and bars but it can be noisy at night, in particular in room 6 on the end - so I advise anyone bring earplugs and sleep with them.

The price was ok but not brilliant value, particularly given the bathroom issues detailed. I asked for a partial refund due to the bathroom issue but was ignored and just...

If you plan to come to Gili T, you must definitely choose the Putra Boyan Cottage. The location is perfect! Only a few minutes walk from the harbour and the man street where all the bars, clubs and restaurants are. You are in the middle of the action and still have your peace and quiet. The guys from Putra Boyan, Nedy and the staff Asan, are incredibly nice and helpful people. They make you feel like you belong to the family. If you have any questions, you can contact them around the clock and they will support you in all matters. The room is very clean and the bed is sooo comfortable! The breakfast, lovingly prepared by Asan, is so delicious. On my Bali trip, I wanted to visit Gili Island for a few days, but I had no choice but to extend my stay. 3 days turned into 3 weeks😅 So - better go there, I highly recommend...

We had a great time at the Hotel. The staff is incredible and super friendly. As soon as we arrived we felt Home and got greeted with a smile. Everyone is up for a chat and they speak great English as well 🙂 The rooms are spacious, hot water and breakfast is a plus. The location is awesome - close to the best and cheapest restaurants and far enough from the mosques so that you can sleep without being disturbed at night.

The breakfast was nice and you can choose between a few different options. Nice views from the balcony! 🙂
