Overall we were absolutely delighted with our stay at Puri Clinton Bali!
What they did great: The homestay's non-pretentious, welcoming concept, managed by Pak Wayan and his family, left us thoroughly impressed. Great location in Benoa area, opposite 5 star hotels. Less than 5 min walk to the beach front. A number of nearby eateries (mix of local and international options), convenience stores and many massage spas all along the road means you don't really have to venture far for anything other than exploring the rest of Bali ☺️. It has the convenience of bike rental upon request too. Cleanliness wise, overall great upkeep! Rooms are clean, bed is comfortable. Aircon functions well. Convenience of a mini fridge and a small safe. For a simple place, consistent hot water in the shower was awesome. Complimentary morning coffee upon request was a really nice touch for a simple homestay too. Nice small pool for a refreshing dip on a hot day, and wonderfully maintained garden which provides a very relaxing feel; with a number of spots to just chill too if you're feeling lazy.
Minor issues (each dealt with/alternative solution): When we arrived on the first day, they had some drainage issues. Slight 'flood' of the shower area. Fix: was seen to immediately, which was great. The toilet in our first room was suboptimal ; needing 2 flushes for a clean flush. Fix: We had a change of rooms later in our stay and the toilet (single flush), as well as water pressure was better here possible because it was on the first floor. No kettle. Fix: you can probably request for hot water from their kitchen if you need.
As mentioned, overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Definitely would recommend it to those looking for a simple fuss free place in the area. We had even been recommending it to family and if we return to the area, will not hesitate to stay here again. Our gratitude extends to everyone at Puri Clinton for making our...
Read moreNice little family run place. If you are looking for basic accommodations this place is a good choice and hard to beat the price they charge for what you get. Nothing extravagant, but the room is big, clean, the bathroom is big (sink tiny), ok shower with a low flow head, mini fridge, small tv with a good number of english channels and a nice plunge pool with 4 loungers and a few more tables around it plus 2 chairs and table right outside your room door. You have a choice of 4 set meals at breakfast which are all prepared fresh for you right there at the kitchen and if one meal is not enough, go ahead and order a second for 2 USD. Could use a tea kettle and a luggage rack in the room but not a big deal. You can walk to the beach in 5-7 minutes, I walked through the conrad hotel but that's a giant maze and its much easier if you walk down the lane, turn right and there is small unmarked alley between the conrad and holiday inn with the beach at the end of a 3 minute walk. Order a 40k rupiah beer from one of the hotels on the beach and you can use a chair and umbrella or just bring a towel as all the beaches are public. High tide is much better as its a long walk to water at low tide. Many 100k massage shops around, and a decent selection of restaurants all within walking distance. The only annoying thing about this area was there a bunch of signs saying grabcar pick ups are not allowed (drop offs are), but I think many grab car drivers ignore this and pick up anyway. Fixed price taxis to the airport are 130 to...
Read moreThis was a business trip and I had meetings in the Conrad (which is a 2 minute walk from here). I just needed somewhere to sleep, eat breakfast, shower and use internet. This was perfect for all of that. The bed was comfortable (not Asian rock); the shower had hot water and was large enough that the curtain didn't wrap around me. There was showergel and shampoo (no conditioner) and no soap in the basin which was a little irritating. Breakfast is a menu and you chose one item - which comes with a fruit plate. Perfect. The internet was adequate (not great, but I did do a zoom on it so it did work). That's it. There is nothing else in the room. So there is no luxury but there is everything that is necessary. There is a little pool which I never quite got around to using , but would have liked to have tried. And bonus - if you like cats - there are cats. and when I was there, kittens. I...
