My wife and I had a fun evening at Rin on Friday night. The menu has a huge selection of Japanese appetizers, entrees, Bento boxes and more. Even a fussy eater will be able to find items to their liking. The beverage menu has a selection of quality Saki and shōchū.
Chef Handayani is the person who makes this restaurant special. She and her team provide guests an delightful experience that starts with the heartfelt welcome through to the goodbyes at the end. Her attention to the details shows in each dish which are pleasing to the eye and pack flavors that delight the palate.
We started with the Chef's selection of sashimi, nigiri and maki. Fresh fish, perfect rice and mouth tingling sauces made this a perfect starter. For mains we did a salmon Bento box and Dashi soba noodles. Every item was perfectly cooked and savory.
We want to thank Chef Handayani along with Swartini and Bisma for a very rememberable dinner. We had such a good time, we've booked another dinner at Rin.
In closing, if you are staying at the hotel or in this area, it's worth your time to stop in for lunch or...
Read moreThought this would be good. Avoid! We're the only table at lunch. We ordered the sashimi sushi bento. Took a while for our food to arrive. We were given Western spoons for the miso soup. We had to ask for soya sauce and wasabi. The place did not feel Japanese at all. Then we realized what a mistake to eat Japanese in Indonesia. But hey, this is the Conrad right? Walked over to the deserted sushi counter and touched the typical Japanese counter cold display. It was warm to the touch and no sign of condensation anywhere in this humid restaurant. Saw some pieces of raw fish wrapped in plastic and no Japanese chef in sight. Guess it is ok for a local chef but when I watched him prepare, I was about to leave the restaurant feeling the risk of food poisoning. Thankfully, we respectfully stayed since our order was obviously being prepared. Thankfully, we did not have any adverse food reaction. But if this really Japanese standard at Conrad? For about USD30 per bento? Nope! The quality and serving is worse than a street Japanese restaurant. Really...
Read moreWe stayed at The Conrad in Nusa Dua in early February. We ate and drank at the various bars/restaurants across the amazing hotel complex. The service was great everywhere, however Rin became our favourite place to take breakfast, afternoon tea, canapes and cocktails as it was by far the best. The breakfast was always fresh and hot, the staff were so lovely and made us feel so welcome. On an evening when we would have canapés and cocktails the staff would ask us about our day. Clara - almost the same name as me, was so friendly and told me about some good hiking spots. Other waiting staff were kind enough to teach us some Bali dialect words. Such a personal touch to the service in such a beautiful place. We also had a couple of top quality evening meals at Rin. Excellent presentation and delicious food.
Thank you so much team Rin for being...
