We are big fans of Pad on Bene. So much so that we try to stay nearby when we visit Bali as we know what to expect. Good food, fair prices, friendly service and variety of offerings for any taste. To add further to this.. We love Bali and Balinese food but when you stay for a longer period of time - you just want to have some good home style cooking. Sometimes just simple food. One thing is love is the variety of drinks. Hubby likes an alcoholic drink but I don’t drink much however i like that POB always has a various drinks not just coke and juice. The food is of high standard and huge offerings. Always something for any taste. I’m not gluten free or a vegetarian but I appreciate they accomodate these dietary needs. It shows they know their customer needs and ensure they cater for many. The staff always seem happy to be at work and given English is their second language - I appreciate the efforts they make. Is this place perfect - no. I think nowhere can always be perfect but they really do seem to care about feedback and their customers. I’ve never met the owners but have seen them on site many times which is good to see. I feel if there ever was an issue - it would be addressed appropriately. Oh and we both have no interest in sport but appreciate they have TVs with this on as it’s not crazy loud or noisy. Big props to your singer who does covers each week too. Nice change up. When we ever family or friends visit Bali and they ask us places to dine - POB is always makes our top 5. To be honest, it’s in the top couple. Alternatively, could give you a dozen “popular” places that I would avoid unless you just want cheap booze. POB gives consistent good service with a genuine business model which sees people return here again and again. Anyway, we will be back in a month for a couple of weeks and I can’t wait to come back. Thank you to all your staff and the owners. Keep up the great work!

Definitely a must try when you are in Bali. Owners are Australian so this place serves authentic Australian meals, ribs, steak, burgers, etc, as well as Asian cuisines and plenty choices of drinks. We’ve dined here 2 years in a row when we visited Bali and both visits were amazing with food and services. Our return visit, I had the Surf & Turf and it was cooked to perfection :) I am always skeptic of trying Asian food in a mixed cuisine restaurant but oh boy, the Thai Green Curry was absolutely divine! My husband is usually very picky with a good tasty ribs but he absolutely polished everything on his plate. If you love dragonfruits like me, make sure to try their dragonfruit cocktail (or non-alcoholic version like I did), or even dragonfruit smoothie. They also serve gluten free meals. They have a musician playing guitar and singing every Wednesday (& Monday??) and the vibe was just perfect, nothing too loud that makes you unable to still hold a good conversation. There are plenty of big screen TVs around the dining area plus a non-smoking dining section if visiting with families & children. Football fans should visit on Friday where they play live games every Friday. One of the owner (Ally) is there most days and she is absolutely amazing and friendly. Every other staff are just so smiley and top-notch services from every staff made us felt so welcomed. Definitely must go in Bali!

Called in for lunch after a big shopping journey on foot. At 12.30pm the place was almost full but managed a table up front with the help of the friendly staff . We ended up going for club sandwiches with a couple of cokes. My club sandwich was so tasty , so full of fresh tasty ingredients including cucumber and I usually hate cucumber , it was one of the best I've had in Bali. The menu here is extensive , I've been here previously for breakfast , prices here are very reasonable too. I noticed there is literally a very cool room that was air-conditioned for those wanting to dine out of the heat...you had to pass through here to get to the toilets too which were spotless. Pad bar also has many tvs showing many different sports . This is a quality restaurant filled with many friendly staff and with a extensive menu there is something here for everyone...I'll be back.

Visited tonight for dinner, cocktails and drinks and watch the AFL

We arrived and requested a well placed vacant table (I have a permanent neck injury) and were told that it was only available for a group of four... Fair enough, so we were offered a less convenient placed alternative..

Edit: For clarity of others reading this;

The couple that requested the table we wanted said it was for 2... Absolutely not 4. this prompted our disappointment and subsequent review.

The owner was fully aware we wanted to discuss last night, we asked the staff, who spoke excellent English, and we saw the response was "give me 5 minutes". We actually heard your response.. After 20mins ( a full quarter of AFL) finishing entrees and drinks, it was obvious that we weren't going to be able to share the feedback, hence the review..

We have frequented this place for many years including under previous ownership of Grant, Bene lane cafe.

The food is always good and this issue wasn't the staffs fault, the staff told us they were under direction from the owner.

Congratulations on the family engagement, but as guests, please don't be dismissive of our feedback and what actually took place.

We appreciate the offer of further discussion, but you declined our offer already.

It would also appear that any other negative feedback from previous reviews has been similarly dismissed. Please use negative feedback as an opportunity for future business improvement, as it is, in our case, that was the intended purpose.

Thankyou and all the best for the future.

We graciously accepted this and before we even sat down, a couple (2 people) behind us requested the same table as we tried, and were seated without question.

I queried with the waiting staff and the response was that it was the owners instruction.

Given the owner was at the venue seated only a few metres away, I politely asked staff if she was available to chat so we could share some feedback on our experience.

We could see the request relayed to her by the staff. We waited for 20mins, enough time to have some snacks and a drink each. Still no owner. She was more interested in sitting socially with friends/family and ducking in and out of the kitchen.

Eventually we decided, given this experience and lack of interest to protect the customer service, to leave. I have frequented this venue for years and this experience has left us incredibly disappointed to the point we won't return.

There are plenty of...

First review....Been for several meals and have enjoyed every one of them. The service was terrific and the food delicious...gets busy, which is always a good sign in Bali as there are so many restaurants to chose from. We will return for sure!! Update...we returned!!! Second review...What a disappointment...we booked in the morning to be in the air con room because 2 of our party of 7 suffer from heat exhaustion easily...and we wanted to be away from the music because of hearing issues with 'the birthday boy'. We arrived and were told a big group was now in the air con room so were put in the area with the 2 split systems, right near the music. I wish we had walked out then. There were apologies and 3 free mocktails for the 7 of us...really, why bother🤷 Then, after waiting nearly an hour for our food we were told the big group was slowing things down...mmm, that added salt to the wound! By the way...the big group was a table of 11, a table of 5 and a table of 4. We were told we would be moved once the room cleared...that didn't happen, but as we left we checked the room and there were 3 empty tables...thanks for remembering to move us! The staff knew we were angry and were apologetic, however, if we'd been told the room wasn't available we would have gone elsewhere... unfortunately that's it for us, because that was the second time we had been moved because a bigger group was coming in. We understand numbers are important in business, however, tell customers there is a chance the table or area will not be available and then they can make the decision to book or not. You've lost our business...there are too many other places in...
