Kusnadi hotel and restaurant — Hotel in Kuta

Found this hotel through booking.com and was a last minute decision. However, it turned out to be a very nice place to stay in an excellent location. The hotel is situated on a very tight curve where the traffic flows in a one way direction. Dina helped to check me in as her Front Desk colleague was on a break. We walked through the gardens to the room. It was very spacious and the bathroom was LARGE, in fact the bathroom was almost as big as the shoebox sized apartment I lived in downtown Tokyo back in the mid 80s! 😰

The mattress on the king double was firm and PERFECT! There were two bathtowels and two pool towels provided per room. Plus, three small bottles of mineral water are provided free of charge on a daily basis. And there's a small fridge to store it in. There are small areas (like gazebos) in the garden where you can lie down, stretch your legs and relax when it's nice and breezy outside.

Outside the room, on the patio is a table and two chairs where you can sit and relax. There's also a drying rack for the wet pool towels. The swimming pool is just around the corner. Breakfast was included in the price and starts at 07:30 lasting until 10:30. It's buffet style and I can confidently say that they could do much better. You are able to order eggs on the side (done to your preference) and it's included in the breakfast. Balinese coffee also comes with the breakfast service. Happy hour starts early too! Two cocktails for the price of one 👍😊

Just outside the hotel is a laundry, directly opposite a cafe/pub owned by an Aussie couple, a convenience store a few steps from the hotel and a bottle shop as well...

The rooms are good, the pool area is nice and quiet, the pool tables and lounge chairs are comfortable, the dining area is spacious and well spaced out but the best part of this hotel are the people who wait upon you. The staff at this hotel are very pleasant, courteous and friendly. Starting with Frankie the security, Dina, Dewi, Ayu, Gita, Made (pronounced Madi, the kitchen staff but most of all it was Putthu from housekeeping who stood out with his amazing artistic talent in coming up with some very interesting towel artwork (can be seen in the photos) placed on the edge of the bed and which you notice as soon as you enter the room! Putthu does have a keen sense of humour which can be seen in one of his creations where he used a flower and a pair of sunglasses to get a laugh out of us when we returned to the room 😅

The only downside is that the food was not up to par but that was the case with most of the other eating places that I frequented in Bali during my stay. The other issue was that everything is brought to the table pretty much at the same time. So make sure that you order dessert well after you have finished your meal 😅

Honest Review. My wife & I stayed at the Kusnadi hotel for 3 nights supposed to stay 4 nights checked out couldnt handle it anymore well where do I start. The breakfast was the worst breakfast I have ever had at a Bali hotel & I've been coming to Bali since 1982 (68 times) the breakfast was uneatable all the buffet choices were stone cold, 4 slice toaster 2 compartments didn't work the the other 2 only toasted 1 side complained but basically said that's all we have. The service (what service) totally none, my wife and I sat down for lunch waited 20 minutes no one came the waitress was to busy showing photos to 1 of the western guests for 15 minutes laughing away finally my wife got up & asked can we have a drink & a menu her comment was oh I thought you just wanted to sit & watch the passing people. Also my wife received a funny look like oh do you want me to serve you. After another 10 minutes & her still showing photos to the person sitting at the bar she came over so that is now nearly 30 minutes we had to wait. Finally we ordered our drinks & food & when I said the service is not great she basically smiled & laughed. Food is well priced no service & tax but very ordinary quality. Wait staff are totally not disinterested , the only up side is the room we had Deluxe Pool View was very nice very clean, nice fluffy towels they are a bit small & the outside bathroom is huge twice the size as the room go figure. |There are much better hotels than the Kusnadi, with staff happy to serve you. I actually made 2 bookings with kusnadi, same check in date, different check out date, Deluxe Pool room and Deluxe Garden Room. With both bookings I requested ground floor room because of a knee injury. I emailed on at least 2 additional occasions trying to get clarification. I even had a friend who is a local go to the hotel and enquire which room would on ground floor. I kept the Deluxe Pool room as I was assured it was ground and cancelled Garden Room. When we checked in we were put upstairs. I enquired about ground floor and was told to come back 2mw. The next day I was told they could move us downstairs the next day however we would have to move again before checking out. We did agree to this. |A few days before checking out we decided to go to Mount Batur for 2 nights. We packed our bags and told reception they could move us when the time was ready, everything was packed up and there was a plastic bag for the things out of the fridge. When we returned our bags had been moved but nothing from fridge, milk, juice, cheese, beer, Smirnoff, soft drink. When I asked they said everything was gone 🤷🏼‍♀️.|I had wanted to stay at this hotel for a couple of years but the availability never lined up with my dates until this year, unfortunately I was extremely let down.
