Fat Buddha Legian — Restaurant in Kuta

The Fat Buddha, Legian

We dined at The Fat Buddha in Legian for five consecutive nights. My wife ordered the steak every evening, and on the last night, I decided to try it myself. To my surprise, the steak tasted a bit different. Upon closer inspection and after taking some pictures, I realized it was glued beef, (Meat Glue, also known as Transglutaminase or Thrombin has been used by restaurants and the meat industry for years to deceive consumers into believing they are getting a premium) not a real tender steak but premium prices.

Additionally, we were quite disappointed by an incident involving extra gravy. When my wife asked for a little more gravy for her steak this gravy comes in the smallest jug you have ever seen, we were charged twice for it. This felt quite greedy and left a sour note on our overall dining experience. It’s a shame, as the restaurant has potential to be a favorite spot. The owner responded so negatively and mentioned free entertainment,every bar in Bali has free entertainment, the owner could have said he will look into this as he buys his steak from...

Nope... The food is overpriced and less than average, the noise is too much. There is no reason for music to ever be so loud it's distorted. They had some great bands but the noise level killed it for them. Ordered a rare tomahawk steak and it came out burnt, when we sent it back they offered a free drink for a $35 steak. Never again Fat Buddha. People rave about this place but I genuinely can't see the appeal. Much better places out there also with great entertainment you can hear.

Edit to address owners reply. A burnt steak definitely is not within my budget, seeing as you very clearly do not value feedback, here's some more. I find it odd that your staff have limited memories to a week and a half ago, I don't know if that speaks to your hiring ability or they just don't respect you enough to care about your customers. I think your snooty reply and very clear dig will speak volumes about the type of person you are and what type of business you run. Thank you...

Too loud! Can't hear myself think!

When i entered it was calm. 3pm Saturday. After i ordered they turned on football and the sound was hitting my ears, especially the highpitch noises. I had to stand next to staff shouting to ask them to turn it down. If they hadn't i would have left.

The burger was great, value for the money. I recommend triple patties. Fries included this is nice gesture and fills you up.

But having to listen to 50% of time time loud ads and the rest loud football took away from a calm Bali experience.

Didn't know it was a sports bar...

Don't want to hang around any longer, can't think, not sure i come back with these noises.

When I wanted to pay, even me shouti g to get their attention 3meters away they didn't hear anything. That how loud it was....
