We had a wonderful time at Villa Riviera.
I had requested an early check-in, and the day before our arrival, I received a message confirming that this was possible because the villa had not been booked the previous night. We arrived at noon and were warmly welcomed with a drink and an introduction to how everything worked.
The villa was spotless and equipped with everything we needed. The location is perfect—within walking distance of Jalan Kayu Aya, and the beach is just around the corner. The pool was delightful and well-maintained throughout our stay, as was the garden, which was kept tidy and well-groomed. The villa can be cleaned daily if you wish, but we opted for every other day because we didn’t feel it was necessary to clean every day and wanted a bit more privacy. The housekeeping staff is fantastic—hardworking and very friendly—and the villa manager, Kadek, was always available to assist us.
Now, I want to mention a minor issue, not to be negative, but to highlight how well it was handled. We had an issue with the air conditioning in the room on the top floor. It malfunctioned, but the staff responded immediately, and a technician came to address the problem. Unfortunately, it took three attempts over three days to fully repair it, so we ended up sleeping in a warm room for two nights. Although this was a bit inconvenient, we understand things can break, and it was a case of bad luck. That said, it should have been fixed on the first attempt. However, the issue was handled very well, and we were given a generous compensation from the owner in the form of a partial refund of our booking costs, which we greatly appreciated.
Despite the air conditioning issue, it did not detract from our overall experience—we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This villa is definitely worth coming back to, not only because the villa itself is fantastic but also due to the great location and wonderful staff.
One small suggestion for improvement: it would be helpful to have a few drying racks outside, as there was nowhere to hang clothes or towels to dry...
Read moreThere was a power outage on the 09 Sep. We were told the the local PLN is working on the situation but we realised that they are not honest about it. Inside the same villa? How can 4 rooms have electricity and ONLY ONE has no electricity? The water supplies were totally out! We have to use the pool water to "flush" the toilet. No solution given since 0405hrs on 10 Sep. This caused us so much inconvenience and there is no action and their reply were SLOW. Can you imagine, no aircon and it is stuffy in the room. We open the door and all we cannot get a good night rest as we are stung by the mosquitoes!! See the pictures of the mess in the kitchen and how we manage in the toilet. We paid quite a huge amount and we don't deserved this type of service! This is by far my worse experience staying in Bali! Total disappointment with the way how they manage...
Read moreI have been to Bali many times, and this place is by far one of my favorite. The quality and attention to details is quite something! The service is also wonderful, all our requests were met promptly and with kindness, and everyone in our group wants to come back. A place we will...
