I stayed at Awatara Boutique Hotel for 5 nights in mid January.||The hotel is located about 1.5 km outside of the main town of Ubud, on a fairly quiet road. There are two small convenience stores just next to the hotel and a handful of restaurants on the same street!||The hotel grounds were beautiful! Lush with greenery, a small pond with coy fish, and a beautiful swimming pool!||Rooms were incredible large and spacious. Well designed, with very elegant lighting and tasteful decor. My room was pool view and came with a private balcony, a large Hollywood bed (bigger than a King size!), a desk with chairs, two arm chairs, 2 bed side tables with soft lamps, a massive 2 door wooden cabinet with ample storage and drawers, a mini fridge which kept its cool during the day when you left the room (smart design!), a folding luggage rack, an electric kettle with tea and coffee making supplies. 2 bottles of water were provided and replenished each morning by housekeeping.||The bathroom was superb - sparkling clean and well designed. There was a large western toilet, a bathtub, and a rain shower, with a glass wall to prevent water from flooding the floor. 3 large dispensers of liquid hand soap, shower gel and shampoo were in room. Toiletries were replaced by housekeeping every morning. Ample towels were provided - soft, clean and smelled fresh each morning! Water was hot and water pressure was excellent!||Housekeeping services were efficient and on point - towels and all room toiletries were replaced daily! Bed sheets were also changed frequently!||The included breakfast was delicious. You choose from a set menu of 3-4 different options including American style breakfast, continental, Asian style breakfast. Good sized meals!||Air conditioning and ventilation in the room were excellent! The wifi signal in the room was very strong, and the room was well equipped with electrical sockets - smart design. The room came with a flatscreen tv, with several English channels including a news channel, the discovery channel and 2 movie channels.||Reception staff and management were superb! Highly professional, courteous and accommodated the needs of guests! ||Overall, a terrific stay at Awatara Boutique Hotel! The hotel itself was very elegant and the client-oriented service truly put it over the top! I would very gladly stay here again if I find myself in Ubud, Bali, as it was an...
Read moreWe stayed at Awatara Boutique Resort, Ubud, for the last 2 days of our honeymoon in Bali. While the staff was welcoming, professional, and eager to share cultural aspects (especially their Hindu heritage, which resonated with us), we found the overall experience somewhat underwhelming.
Ambiance and Vibe: The hotel lacked the holiday vibes we expected, especially compared to the previous hotel we stayed at. It felt like we were the only guests there, with me being the lone swimmer in the pool.
Pool and Cleanliness: The pool was not clean when we arrived, and I had to request cleaning, which was promptly done. The Hindu-themed art near the pool depicting deities like Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu was beautiful and added a spiritual touch.
Food: Breakfast was tailored to our pure vegetarian preferences, and I personally enjoyed it. However, my wife found it lacking in taste and freshness. The staff kindly accommodated our request for an early packed breakfast on our departure day, which was appreciated.
Room Facilities: The room had some issues, such as a glass sliding door that was difficult to lock properly and required significant effort. The limited charging points and incompatible switch designs (circular rings that didn’t fit our adapters) were inconvenient.
Location: The hotel is in a street-like area with no nearby attractions, which made it less appealing.
Washroom and Design: The washroom was a highlight, with a bathtub, indoor and outdoor showers, and a clean design.
Overall, while the staff’s efforts stood out, the resort lacked the energy and facilities we expected for a honeymoon stay. I’d recommend this place for someone looking for a quiet retreat but not for those expecting vibrant...
Read moreIt is a small scale resort with great service. The people behind the desk and the servers do their best to provide you with a good experience. My mother wanted a fresh coconut but the resort doesn't have it on their menu, so the server asked one of his friends to go outside to find one for her. The location is also great - it's very easy to go to the center of Ubud via taxi there and there are multiple grocery stores nearby.
The rooms were spacious. There is a TV present and there were a total of 3 ways to wash yourself (inside shower, outside shower, bathtub). They also supply simple toiletries and the airconditioning was great. I stayed in a room where the bathroom had large windows (with no way to close these windows) with a view of a small garden-like area with an outside shower. While this area was enclosed by walls so technically no one is able to view inside the bathroom, it does feel a bit vulnerable to shower and go to the bathroom there.
One large disadvantage was the quality of the food. The breakfast was alright, not great not bad, but I had BBQ chicken for dinner once and it immediately made my stomach upset, even though it wasn't spicy. I would be a bit wary of eating there, as someone in my group also got sick afterwards and another person who had the BBQ chicken had a similar reaction.
Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Ubud as it is a quiet location that is still close to the center of Ubud. However, I would not eat...
