Nice place for a short stay, but the view to Ayung river and jungle side is awesome (you need to walk down thru man-made stairs quite a lot though). Facilities like : swimming pools small, gym old n limited machines, breakfast menu ~ not that good in term of variety and quality, for a short stay (2 nights) would be just fine. We experienced an unpleasant problem (some dirty water came out from the bathtub plug twice, see pic attached to avoid unnecessary/mistaken imagination), but their service was acceptable as we were allowed to move to other room immediately after the 2nd occurrence though (first fix did not solve the problem). Most transfers within the property were done thru buggy car, so you might need to wait for a while, but all transfers were smooth, safe and enjoyable (for the young ones especially). Speaking for kid activities, there were not much offered during our stay (early July 2017), hope they can improve it someday. Overall services were good (supported staff, acceptable wifi strength in the room) The afternoon tea session ~ a little note here, since the sitting area for afternoon tea were not big, it should have been better to make it as a non-smoking area although with an outdoor arrangement setting; otherwise it made the afternoon tea session not enjoyable right away (pls consider, or at least provide different timings for smokers and non-smokers as the view of the venue, so called "La View" is great and meant to be enjoyed by everyone). Location to the Ubud central market and forrest monkey, is not far, and they got regular free drop-off arrangements (reservation is recommended). We tried Japanese dinner at the Oeshi Resto (within the property), and would recommend...food served nicely and tasty (a bit...
Read moreI can't rate this place highly enough. I was here with my new husband as part of our honeymoon and it was amazing. We were only there for three nights, I wish we could have stayed for longer. Our room was lovely, we got two beds with flowers on them on arrival and a lovely bathroom with a huge bath. I think there were three swimming pools there. One main one and two rooftop pools. I went to a free yoga session one morning by the pool which was great. One particular thing that stuck out for me was that one evening at the restaurant I ordered a meal but wasn't feeling well so I couldn't eat it. The waitress insisted that I didn't pay for it even though what I did it tasted great and I wanted to pay. She was very sympathetic and even brought ginger tea to our room. Amazing service and I wouldn't hesitate to come back. The only thing was that it was difficult for our taxi driver to find because it's labelled as "Kupu Kupu Barong"...
Read moreA quaint resort spread over a reasonably big area. The drop point for cars is about 200 metres from the city road, inside a bylane. Within a few minutes a battery operated buggy will arrive to take guests down a steep winding road, upto the lobby of the resort. That's one very interesting ride. A Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle from India, with a sidecar attachment, parked near the lobby is an interesting touch. The rooms are spacious, well perceived and very well decorated. The ethnic touch, the artwork, the decor, the statues and images spread around the common open space, with lush greenery all around, gives a middle-of-jungle experience. The two days stay was absolutely delightful. However, we missed to fully enjoy the ambience of the resort as most of our daylight times were spent in sightseeing tours around Bali. Indonesian food at the restaurant was very...
