Felt like home.... I could not believe my luck, when upon deciding to visit Ubud to try out a great local restaurant Liap Liap that I managed to secure a one night stay in the Private Pool Villa at Beehouse Dijiwa. The graciousness of the staff upon arrival, the icy cold mint fresh facecloth and healthy tumeric & ginger welcome drink was just the prefect way to start a stay Beehouse. A full tour of the Villa before settling in to ensure all my needs were met was something you do not encounter everywhere. They think of the small things...my waistline appreciated the two mini cheesecakes made up in lidded jars for afternoon tea... this was truly special! The views from the Villa were worldclass...lush green rice paddies as far as the eye could see, was even able to watch locals weeding the paddies over coffee at sunrise in the morning from bed. The rain shower was hot and shower gel decadent, their own recipe, so aromatic! Having the open living room downstairs allowed you to be at one with nature, watching the swallows swooping over the fields, the golden skinks basking in the sun and one cannot forget the sweet sounds of the singing frogs. The perfect place to read that new novel. A larger than life stone bath was a perfect place to soak away a very long morning walk through the fields and local area. The pool was exquisite and again views to die for...everything that one expects from a Bali holiday. The Beehouse has an amazing kitchen crew, the Soto Ayam I had for lunch after check in was probably one of the best I have had in Bali. Breakfast plentiful and a variety of options for all. I did not get the time to use their spa services this visit but the menu looks amazing, so definitely allow yourselves time to enjoy that experience. Lastly, I must thank some of the best staff I have encountered anywhere in the world. Smiles the size of a rainbow on each of them, attentive, friendly and compassionate, I see great things in their futures within the Hospitality Industry, having spent over 25 years in it myself. I really did not want to leave to be honest, my stay left me with a feeling of having come home to family. Special thanks to all staff, apologies if I forgot anyone, but special mentions to Gede, Yuana, Evi, Dayu, Delia, Novia and Komang. Until my next vist...Suksema...

The accommodations are simply stunning—modern yet authentically Indonesian, with unique treehouse-style pods surrounded by breathtaking nature. Everywhere you look, you’re embraced by lush palms, ferns, and endless stretches of brilliant green rice paddies. It truly feels like stepping into a serene paradise.
What touched us most deeply, though, were the people. The service was beyond anything we could have hoped for—so sincere, warm, and genuinely helpful. They couldn’t have done more for us. I have special dietary needs, and they went above and beyond to make sure I felt cared for. Every interaction felt heartfelt and authentic, and it’s clear this is more than just hospitality—it’s a true expression of kindness and generosity.
The food was divine, with breakfast included each morning (absolutely delicious!). I especially loved their refreshing herbal tea infusions of lemongrass, which I now want to recreate at home. Knowing this is a local business, owned and invested in by local Indonesians—not outsiders—made our stay feel even more meaningful. It felt so good to be supporting the beautiful culture and community of Bali in such a direct way.
One of the most unforgettable moments was when the staff shared with me their daily spiritual offerings—93 small blessings made each day using flowers, coconut, salt, rice, and banana leaves. These offerings are placed thoughtfully throughout the property to honour the earth, the meals, the visitors, and the journey of life itself. Witnessing this devotion and love for nature and spirit was incredibly moving and gave our stay an even deeper connection to Bali’s soul.
Beehouse Dijiwa Ubud captures the very spirit and beauty of Bali—the serenity of its landscapes, the richness of its traditions, and above all, the warmth in the smiles of its people. This place will stay in our hearts forever. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

Read moreAdiwana is a huge conglomerate with multiple properties. Whilst the 'Bee House' is in an amazing location overlooking the rice fields and adjacent to a spectacular paved farming walk , the Hotel has some negatives. The walls are paper thin. The room design is not functional and disappointing in quality. Bedding stained and dusty, bed not comfortable. The advertised inclusions had been stripped from the rooms (despite being advertised) for the 'new normal' discounted price. Covid is not an excuse. If you open a property, advertise inclusions and charge a guest based on their expectations, you surely should deliver as advertised. The TV was not working so a USB with a few movies on it was supplied after asking. The wi-fi had to be configured on my laptop and phone by staff and was very average when useable. The room had a broken sliding door and so was not lockable. On arrival pop music blasted out of the restaurant speakers which was actually louder back in the room due to a huge sub speaker sending bass throughout the property . Why you would take an idyllic location for peace and serenity and swamp it with pop music is beyond me. I asked and they changed the music to Balinese but it was still too loud and indeed overpowering the volume of my TV. The artistic design and beautiful gardens make it very photographable but the property is small in reality, the food ok and extremely cheap, the staff are gentle and efficient when asked but overall I can't see the value in the normal price of AUD204.00 (IDR2,124,418.53) per night at what is becoming a tired old property lacking room maintenance and in fact, I wouldn't stay at any of their other properties based on...
