DO NOT BELIEVE NETFLIX. This place is a train wreck. We booked the golden room as it had two bedrooms and was able to accommodate our family. There were no warnings about it being unsafe for kids, but it clearly is. There is an open staircase with a 15 foot drop from the second floor. No railings or safety measures. The response from management was "we don't claim to be kid friendly." Sure, but you also don't post accurate photos or a warning that it isn't safe for young kids. Top this off with the room being about 1.o km from the resort, you won't be able to access the dinner or pool as it is a long hike and at night it is brutal. We were booked for 3 nights but left after one. They state that you are in nature, which we are ok with but this place had birds living in the rafters that were pooing on us all night long. Massive wasp nest in the building and the list goes on and on. This was the low light of our time in Bali. This place is really for single people. However, the "natural" feel they sell you is being destroyed as the entire resort is surrounded by construction. This place will be out of business soon.
In response to the owner. I know the ladder for the birds nest is why you were on Netflix. I also didn't book this. I booked a house which never identified a steep staircase drop with no railing and a giant hole in the second floor with nor safety railings. Keep going around calling people vanilla and your ignorance will shine through. The fact that you reacted so poorly to an earnest review is exactly why your business will fail. There are no beautiful rice fields to view there is mud construction next to your pool. As for your comments on my parenting, I don't encourage my kids to lean on railings but even poor railings offer some degree of safety, you have none. Can't help but notice you ignore the fact that you hide the fact that this house is incredibly far from the resort proper and has zero facilities near it. Let alone that birds that poop on you, your bathroom, your bags. Then when we ask for any support your simple reply is "we don't say we are kid friendly." You don't understand customer service and it is captured in your treatment of someone who paid a lot of money and couldn't even stay there and you offered no help, or solution, you just...

Upon arrival, we were greeted so warmly with a nice welcome drink and the friendliest of staff who all introduced themselves and helped us get settled in even though we were technically early for by an hour or two. The lobby is spectacularly beautiful and well designed with a lovely small pool, lounging areas, and a small bar.
On our tour of the property while being guided to our room, we saw the Spa (didn't get to visit, but it's also in a treehouse) and the dining area. Because we stayed on a Saturday night, we were able to take advantage of their EXCELLENT Family Dinner night (100k per person). Any & all guests are invited to join, but we were the only 2 who chose to this day so we had a private multi course meal! There were 2 delicious salads, 3 mains + rice, corn, eggplant, and fruit for desert. It was all classic Bali cusine and the staff (Ardika) did a fantastic job of explaining all the dishes to us - and local traditions too! We had a great evening and everything tasted fresh and flavorful.
We stayed at the nest, Level 4, and loved it. The property overall was an amazingly designed place, with some community/hostel vibes (shared space) e.g. the bathroom and also the living area/lockers if you're staying in any of the tree house rooms. Keep in mind, depending on which level you book, it's a serious climb several meters up a bamboo ladder. If you don't like heights... Perhaps this isn't for you. Maybe just do the spa! Each nest has a bed, light, and (at least ours had) a fan. It rained overnight and we had no issues.
I would come back to stay here in a heartbeat, and most certainly recommend...

We stayed in the birds nest level 4 for two nights. If you're looking for a unique and adventurous accommodation, this is your place!
The Eco Lodge also has private rooms (with AC) and bird nest rooms (opportunity to be one with nature. No AC but you get a fan). Our birds nest was the highest and the sunset view was absolutely stunning (we slept through sunrise but I'm sure the view was just as stunning). Some things to consider: you will be exposed to the elements and share your nest with critters (there's a net you can wrap around your bed but we didn't find it very breathable), being at the top you feel every movement of those below you, and the ladder climbing up to the nest is not for the faint hearted. All that being said, it's worth the stay for such a unique opportunity!
The main common area is beautifully designed. The architect, who is also the owner, did a phenomenal job. It's the perfect space to unwind, relax and work. Lots of different spaces to make yourself comfortable.
While the food selection is limited, everything we had was delicious! The smoothies, quesadilla, french toast, pasta, yam fries- it was all fantastic!
The entire property is well kept and very clean. The staff are also super helpful and friendly. When we arrived at the Ubud Fitness Centre, a staff member met us there and took our heavier luggage, which made the walk to the lodge much easier (10 min). And when we left, they also helped bring our luggage back to the main road.
Location is great, as it's a short 10 minute walk into the Ubud centre.
Lastly, they have a house cat that is...
