I'm not one to write bad reviews, but i'm severely disappointed by this place considering ive been eating here for about 3 years now. I'll start by saying, the food is great and hopefully my experience is isolated. My last visit, the staff were not attentive to the point we sat almost 15 minutes before anyone recognized us, and no, it was not crowded. In asking for a drinks menu, we were told they didn't have one (which isn't true as ive been here at least 10 times) and she proceeded to tell me the drinks they had, which i know it's clearly more than the 7 she named. I then head to repeatedly go to the counter to have someone come over and take our order at least 6 times; no exaggeration. I finally managed to get a drinks menu, only to have to visit the counter yet again to have someone take my drink order. No one came over after we received our food to see if we needed anything as they usually do. Not to mention their prices have significantly increased to cater to tourist (dount really blame them for that, but the increase is drastic). I used to enjoy taking my friends and family that visit to this place, but now, it so doesn't...
Read moreThe afternoon meal here was definitely one of the best meals of my trip to Indonesia. I was introduced to this restaurant by the driver who took me to Ubud for the day. There's quite a large car park. The waitress escorted me in and offered me a choice of sitting cross legged under a shady canopy or a conventional table. I chose the latter option. She went through the menu with me, patiently explaining the different items. As I was keen on tasting a dish with lots of zing in it, she recommended that I have the 'Paket Bebek Bakar Sambal Matah' (Roast Duck with Sambal). It came with an iced tea and a rice pudding. I also ordered an avocado juice. It didn't take long for the food to arrive. The time waiting for the food seemed to pass quickly because of the beautiful scenery all around the restaurant. The tables are well spread out, there is a prayer room, an area that sells souvenirs and plenty of well maintained toilets. The young waitress was friendly and had a pleasant demeanor as did the cashier at the desk. All in all a very nice restaurant with a great ambience. A must visit place during any trip...

Location If you have young kids and/or with prams may always be easier to get there w a grab/ gojek ride. As it gets dark the road in isn't too well lit. Else jus head there earlier whilst daylight is still available. :) if you are walking in from Jln. Teges, it's probably going to be 10ish mins of walking. There is available parking too infront or nearby the restaurant.
Vibes Its also a sprawling traditional feeling restaurant w varied seating types, floor and normal height tables etc. They do also have a cooler or two for the warmer days/ nights. (they even provide mosquito coils, many places don't bother. I know people could say it's all about the experience, but hey least here they try to think for their guests too :))
Food Plenty of variety in their menu allowing you to order dishes to share or as sets w rice. From bbq ayam/ chicken, ikan/ fish (gourami) to goreng(fried) options. Some soups, noodles and fried rice, along w starters. The BBQ ikan was fragrant and tender, along w delicious marinade and sambal!
As always plenty of drink options...
