High luxury standard, a ferry tail environment, familiar and professional staff, your own luxury villa with private pool. The best deal for honeymooners. Your best and unforgettable holidays for sure! A must have thing to do on your bucket list.
VILLA / GUEST ROOMS Our villa is a wonderful oasis of luxury, intimacy and comfort. Every detail, each corner is designed to make you happy and feel special. Every corner is perfectly clean, the sanatory facilities smell like flowers and are perfect clean and in best condition. Towels and the bed are perfectly clean, too. In your own bathroom you can choice by different soap smells. You have everything you might need. And a small hairdryer, too. (guests with very long hairs might need a more powerful one) From the bathtub and from your bed you can see the forest and watch the sunset. The housekeeping will clean your room, change towels and fill up complementary water bottles twice a day. They prepare the mosquito net around the bed.
GASTRONOMY First on arrival we ordered some ice cream to our villa. The so called "Assorted ice cream" was one of the best ice cream we ever had. It wasn't just some sorts of ice. It was a perfect combination of rosted almonds with delicious vannila cream and cream topped with perfect Baisé. Again you could see the perfection of the service in detail. So the deserts are really excellent. The breakfast is mainly European. They have really delicious omelette and fluffy pancakes. There are some asian and Japanese breakfast items, too but just basic things and nothing really special or exceptional. The lunch and dinner food is very good and clean, but not as good and exceptional as we had expected because of the overall high grade luxury standard of this hotel. The restaurant is very good compared to many other restaurants in Bali, but I think they could do this even better. The grilled meat menu's are their top products. And everything is affordable, so that you don't need to leave the restaurant for lunch or dinner. This fact maybe more important than a international star chef cook. We also had a in room dining event and the grilled steaks were really tender and delicious. The restaurant is up on the mountain and is almost outside, like everything in bali. There is a roof but only one side walled. So there is no need for an air conditioning and you won't sweat or freeze either.
HONNEYMOON SPECIAL For honneymoon the hotel makes up the room with flower leafs and several special presents as well as a free dinner or a free spa treatment, too. This hotel is really the best choice for honeymooners. In the villa and even on your private pool you feel very intimate. Because of the terrace architecture now one can look into your garden; except the monkeys on the opposite jungle 2 km far away 😀. You can order all breakfast/ lunch/ dinner or even a small desert to your hotel room without any extra charge!!! So that's why this hotel is the best choice for honeymooners as well. It's like you are the owner of your own villa.
MANAGEMENT / DUTY MANAGER: The management is very friendly and really willing to make your stay perfect. Our special thanks go to Agung Sarjana and an woman from the front desc (she had braces). They have good manners, are respectful, empathic and really accommodating. They made everything for us to make our stay convenient. They really treated us like as we would have been their own family members. They help you in with any kind of problems: when you need transportation, touring tips, they help out with translation or phone calls, they even help you out when you need a doctor or any kind of medication.
LOBBY The lobby is amazing. Words can not explain the great architecture, the wonderful statuettes and the whole balineese spirit. It is like a balineese point of interest itself.
SPA The massage has been great. But the whole experience wasn't worth of approximately 85€. The spa area wasn't as unique and beautiful as the rest of the hotel was. The spa experience was really good, but not...
Read moreRoyal Pita Maha is a lovely-looking resort in Ubud. You'll come from the airport and wonder, where is this paradise? Be patient. It'll come. My wife and I were here for my honeymoon and the beginning of the trip did not go as planned due to the airline notifying us morning of that the connecting flight in Doha would be pushed back due to a plane arriving late to NYC. I emailed Royal Pita Maha right away to notify them that we would not be able to arrive until the following morning, but they had refused to refund nearly USD $400 in the nightly cost! A 26-hour journey turned into a 35+ hour journey from America, and they could not take immediate notice of our inconvenience and return the one-night credit to us (1 month later!). But let's continue this review, knowing that the resort is unreasonable (some might say greedy) and not as hospitable as their counterparts elsewhere (from what we experienced in Nusa Dua). To-date, the hotel management is 100% uncooperative with credit card issuers and guests alike, so hope you don't fall into similar circumstances. To me, this is terrible hospitality for a country that relies on tourism so heavily (shame on you!). Back to it ... all of the folks on the staff responsible for luggage, cleaning up the room and premises, and preparing breakfast were great! Only exception was noticing the dozen empty wine bottles on the side of the path to our villa each day. We tried to spa and were disappointed due to faulty doors to the sauna, a mediocre massage with masseuses who did not provide disposable clothing for our swimwear, and freezing pools (and "jacuzzi") that had no heat. We loved the brunch buffet, the lunch was just okay, and dinner left much to be desired. People staying elsewhere aren't going to RPM to eat or enjoy the spa, at least if they have done their research. The resort was pretty empty in early September but it's vast and beautiful. Views from our villa pool of the Uyung River and jungle landscape were great. Again, if only the pool was heated in the slightest bit, we would've been able to enjoy it more. You'll hear roosters each morning, which is nice if you're from the city, but then hearing the birds on the bamboo/straw roofs above where you sleep peck their way through was not something we needed to encounter. Lastly, they provide a shuttle service but it's very limiting with their schedule and capacity. You'll want to be in touch with a driver, because it's really challenging to get around Ubud without a motorbike. Would've been nice if this place didn't nickel-and-dime guests as much. But hey, you live and you learn... and then try out other neighborhoods like Nusa Dua and discover that on a scale of 5 (being great), Royal Pita Maha gets a 2 for gorgeous facilities, a great complimentary breakfast buffet, and an incredibly lackluster hospitality. I don't always write reviews, but when I do, it's to express truth to fellow travelers in order to help them mitigate a poor experience. Looking forward to management's...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE! Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Please read this review, consider yourself warned, and book at your own risk.
This property is derelict. It’s crumbling, dirty, bug infested, overpriced and very depressing overall. The staff are doing everything they can but the infrastructure is terrible and management is only interested in making money.
This is a 3 star hotel masquerading as a 5 star resort online, and misrepresenting how the rooms look in photos.
I’m not sure how this place has any good reviews. Maybe they’re from the past when the place must have been ok or from people don’t have as much of an experience with good places.
Pros Hard-pressed to find any.
Cons in order of priority
Bug infested and scary: There are LIVE bugs and reptiles in you room. The scary sounds are not just from outside, these things are IN YOUR ROOM.
At night, when you are defenseless and sleeping. We had Cecaks and Tokek geckos in the room and numerous other bugs. Others have seen frogs/snakes. The rooms have large gaps which allow animals in. All rooms have this so a room change will not help. SO SCARY!
Other resorts in the area have really made efforts to ensure there are minimal instances of live animals in the room. This resort instead prints a brochure letting you know what you will find and say it’s because you are located adjacent to a forest. Way to escape responsibility.
Dirty: Dated interiors, poorly maintained and crumbling.
There is a lot of wear and tear in the hotel. It looks nothing like the air brushed photos they show online. The resort looks downright depressing including murky ponds and overgrown algae. The whole resort in covered on algae and it looks horrible. Even the private pool has algae and you won’t be able to step in it. Bathroom tiles are cracked, bathroom is dirty, room is dirty, towels has YELLOW stains in it- it’s downright disgusting.
The list is endless and you never know what you will find.
Hygiene is a major issue, with stains on bed and the net above. There was a faint foul smell in the bathroom, maybe coming from the drain Apart from in the swimming pool, the chairs weee ripped, stained and dusty. Nobody had bothered to clean them before a guest checked in. There were dirty plates in the restaurant and cobwebs on the chairs.
Far from everything; This place is also very far from the main areas in Ubud so you will need to cab it up each time. This is our fault, we should have known.
Food: Not very good and restaurant did not seem hygienic.
Not even sure it’s ok health wise to stay here. Honestly it’s falsely advertising as a 5 star property. It’s 3 star at the best.
The hotel did not want to remedy the situation. We checked out early and we refused to stay a night more. We spent an extra $500 to escape this hell.
Again, don’t say I didn’t warn you. It’s a travel horror story we...
