Many thanks to Kyle & Mariah/Maria and their staff for taking care of us during the short stay. Their staff helped to carry our luggage to-and-fro the villa (we arrived late at night but gave them advance notice). Kyle is a warm host and we enjoyed our interactions with him when he dropped by the villa area during our stay. We learnt that he's Canadian, which might explain the name of the villa and why there are maple leaf symbols.
We stayed in the villa with Mountain View which provided a terrific view in the evening and at night. The place was quiet at night but still within walking distance from the nearby eateries.
The villa has a loft design and is very spacious. Note that the loft design also means that you have to climb up and down the staircase to go to the bed.
On the first floor, there is a water dispenser which provides hot water, cooled water, and cold water if you need. Cups are in the kitchen cabinet.
You would be pleased if you intend to cook, the villa came with a fully equipped kitchen including refrigerator, quality crockery in the cabinets, and quality cooking pots and pans. However, please ask for cooking/olive oil, else you may buy oil or unsalted butter from supermarkets (in case they do not have any at the villa). Highly recommend a visit to Delta Dewata Ubud if you intend to buy fresh meat).
If you intend to order food in, the villa provided a list of nearby eateries (warung) that you can call for delivery, we would recommend ordering from them to try if you like local food, prices are reasonably priced (around 35-70k IDR per food item). Highly recommend Rare Angon Warung (which is also a 10-15min walk from the villa if you would like to visit the eatery).
You would probably hear the roosters crowing in the morning or throughout the day. Nearby, there are other animals such as ducks, cattle, cats and dogs. We would suggest that you do not feed the animals as we are just visitors to the area.
During our stay, we made friends with a lovely dog who liked to hang out around our villa. She was very interactive with us (letting us pet her) and would greet us (by barking) when we went out or returned back, and would lay down outside the villa while we were indoors.
Would 100% book Maple Ridge Ubud Villas in the future if we ever consider coming...
Read morePERFECT!!! A peaceful paradise in Ubud and the cleanest villa I’ve ever stayed in! Maple Ridge Ubud Villas is definitely my favorite stay in Ubud. Tucked away in the middle of peaceful rice fields, it offers total tranquility and yet it’s just a short walk to cafes, restaurants, and small shops. The location is the best of both worlds. What makes this place so special is Kyle, the nicest owner I’ve ever met 💝He’s genuinely devoted to making sure every guest has the best possible stay. He’s constantly improving the villas and pays attention to every little detail. I mentioned I like soft pillows and a few hours later, two perfect ones were waiting for me in the bedroom! Mary, his kind and thoughtful helper, also makes sure everything is perfect. The villa is spotless (seriously the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed in Ubud), beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need and if something’s missing, Kyle or Mary will make sure you have it. There’s also a laundry service, and if you’d like, they can prepare delicious fresh juices and breakfast for you each morning. Such a thoughtful touch! Plus, just nearby is the scenic Campuhan Ridge Walk, a beautiful path that leads you to even more restaurants and shops. If you’re looking for peace, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality in Ubud this is the place. I can’t recommend...
Read moreVanessa and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Maple Ridge. Kyle, the owner, is justifiably proud of the villas, and is a friendly, available and helpful host. His partner, Maria, is lovely, and Anggy, who does the daily clean, is a delightful dynamo. The villas are pretty much perfectly located at the top of the Campuhan Ridge walk, in the midst of ricefields and very close to the excellent Bamboo Cafe. It is in easy walking distance of many Warungs (restaurants) from Resort Restaurants to local family businesses, and you could eat at a different one each night for a long time. The Red Rice Warung is cheap, fantastic and serves great curries. We were able to walk in and out of Ubud each day without really having to contend with the roads. Great exercise - and there's the lovely little pool to drop into when you get back a bit sweaty. The bed was wonderful, the villas have everything you need. Fresh towels every day! But it's the views and the quiet that make it something special. Opening the large windows each morning to a new sky and the birds flying around, the sounds of waking Bali.....aaaaah. They're not the cheapest, but they are safe, comfortable, beautifully located and well worth the stay....
