Unfortunately, the hotel is very low-grade, the rooms smell damp, the pillows have not been cleaned at all, they smell of dirt and dirt, the towels look like they were washed with gasoline and low-quality detergents. The pool is not clean at all, and unfortunately, the housekeeping does not collect and clean the dishes that the guests have left behind, and ants walk on the dishes. * For those who care about the class of the hotel and cleanliness, this hotel is not a good suggestion, I could not stay in the hotel and left the hotel * But for those who do not like to spend a lot on a hotel, it is a poor option and very, very much below average🤢🤮 My recent stay at Ulun Ubud Hotel was by far the worst travel experience I have ever had. The hotel was in an unacceptable condition: extremely dirty, with food trays and dishes from other rooms left uncleaned in the hallways, attracting insects and pests. The rooms smelled of mold and rot, and the pillows and bedsheets were clearly unwashed, giving off a foul, dusty odor. Cobwebs covered the corners of the room, and there were lizards crawling around.
The hotel staff were incredibly rude. When I politely asked for assistance, they dismissively told me I could report it to Booking.com. Even worse, the administrative supervisor became aggressive and verbally abusive toward me. He appeared to be preparing to physically confront me, and only restrained himself when he saw I was recording a video — at which point he quickly hid his hands behind his back.
That same night, I felt so unsafe and disturbed that I contacted the UAE consulate. Despite having fully paid for several nights in advance, I was initially denied access to my luggage and not allowed to leave for another hotel. After hours of persistence and distress, I finally managed to leave just four hours later and checked into Hanging Gardens, escaping from what felt like a nightmare.
I am deeply disappointed not only in the hotel staff, who acted with complete unprofessionalism and hostility, but also in Booking.com for continuing to allow such a property to operate on your platform. It is unacceptable that guests are exposed to such unsafe, unsanitary, and degrading conditions.
I expect a full investigation, an immediate response, and appropriate compensation for this...
Read moreWe had a great stay at Ulun Ubud Resort, for our honeymoon and the hotel is very beautiful. The breakfast included in our stay was very nice, with a buffet offering of seasonal fruits, crossaints, cheeses, jams, cold meats and local porridges which was very interesting, as well as a selection of nice fruit juices and lemon infused water. We had a very nice, and well priced, dinner at the hotel the night we arrived which was nice as we arrived fairly late and didnt feel like missioning into town.
The hotel is located about 3km out of the main town, which is nice as its quiter and more luscious, but it does require you to rent a scooter or get a taxi to go into town, else take a ~30min walk.
Our room was perfectly adequate; spacious, bed was very comfy, minibar with free colddrinks and water, and had a nice bathroom with a great shower and big bath, but the balcony was open and very close to our next door neighbours and on a few occacions when i went onto the balcony my neighbour was there, and it didnt feel very private. Understandably, the rooms are not all super private, but biggest concern is that our neighbour could see into our room from the edge of their balcony, so we needed to close the blinds and sacrifice the sunrise view if you want to sleep naked and walk around your room freely. The pool was also very nice, clean and beautiful, but was located directly outside of other guests rooms which felt a bit intrusive.
The hotel assisted us with scooter rental, and although there was an issue with our bike that we noticed after leaving the hotel on our adventure around ubud, (headlight didnt work which was unsafe at night and tyre was flat) they gave us one days rental for free, so more than made up for the issue. We were very happy with that!
The staff were super friendly, cleaned our room every day and gave us good advice for things to do around Ubud.
We would definitly recommend Ulun Ubud to anyone traveling to Ubud, especially those that dont want to be right in the center, and who want to explore the greater...
Read moreThis is probably the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. The pictures don't do it justice. When we arrived and saw our surroundings we were really mindblown. Incredible that you walk down a driveway and you're on a busy Ubud street and just a short walk away this paradise hides.|Luckily we don't have any mobility issues.. We were in Deluxe Suite 208 (the Rosie room). It's on the very bottom level of the hotel so we got to do every single stair when we wanted to go up the main lobby or the restaurant. It's a bit rough; even if you're in shape. Stop a long the way for photo breaks so ppl don't know you're about to have a heart attack, lol.||The food in the restaurant was good. Not amazing but good (we were maybe spoiled by our previous hotel in the food department). The espressos, cappucinos etc are amazing and are not included in your breakfast which was a little on the cheap side in my opinion. One thing we would have really loved was if room service opened early (they only open at 11) to be able to have a quiet breakfast or a non-instant coffee on our beautiful jungle balcony.||Also, we ordered room service dinner one night and they said they'd be back to collect the dishes.. They didn't come back till past noon the next day so our balcony table was covered in dirty dishes and eventually flies and ants. It would have been nice to have a prompt clean up. Not a huge crisis but a bit annoying.||We each had a 4 handed massage and it was INCREDIBLE. Highly recommend. A little more expensive than a street massage obviously but still worked out to about $45 USD- much much cheaper than that service at home. ||The rates here are very reasonable for what you get. The view will change your soul, honestly. We slept with the doors wide open which was beautiful, as long as you're cool with roosters and all kinds of birds early AM. I would definitely recommend. Location is great too, about a 25 minute walk to central Ubud, but there are many restaurants, bars, scooter rentals, ATMs etc all within a couple of steps from the...
