I reached this restaurant around 10:30am after seeing that it was open from 8am on Google maps. When I arrived, there were no other customers and the payment area was also unattended. I figured given the low season, maybe delayed their opening time. Eventually a staff came out and because I don't speak a word of Indonesian, we had trouble communicating but eventually she allowed me to sit down. I ordered chicken satay and papaya juice. With rice, 7 skewers the size of my little finger was served. Even for a female solo traveller, I would recommend ordering more than 1 dish for satiety. I was charged 70,000 idr + 7,700 service charge. This was the last day of my trip and I wanted to use up my cash. As I was pulling out the cash from my wallet, the lady kept pointing at the receipt saying, "More! More! More!" I struggled to understand why she thought I was only paying her in coins when I am still counting the cash from my wallet or her impatience when I was the only customer there. She called another staff who was equally short with me despite by then, I had laid out 107,700 idr in total. They exchanged words in Indonesian and I offered to pay in card in case they didn't have change, not understanding what the problem was. I had to request the 30,000 idr to be returned to me and in retrospect, I suspect they were cross with me expecting me to leave the 30,000 idr in tip. This was the only restaurant in Bali so far that was so aggressive in their customer service and I couldn't help but feel like me turning up was more of an inconvenience to them. The walk in the heat (Gojek/Grab drivers cannot enter this region) nor the food served was worth what was provided...

The first time we went, we didn’t have much time before our reservation at Karsa Spa. We had a quick lunch of spring rolls, samosas and smoothie bowls. All we’re delicious! We loved it so much that we wanted to go back when we had more time.
We went again a few days later and the staff remembered us! They welcomed us back with warmth & joy! We ordered spring rolls, a green smoothie bowl, fried noodles and the tuna steak with sambal matah . All the food was extraordinary!!
The best part about this restaurant is the location. It’s a little tricky to get to, but just follow the signs and keep going down the path through the rice fields. You’ll pass a few private residences, then bamboo kitchen is in the right. If you make the effort to find it, you will be greatly rewarded!
It’s tucked in the middle of rice fields, allowing you to feel immersed in the natural scene. After our lunch we ordered a young coconut & sat in the bean bag chairs overlooking the rice fields for a truly relaxing afternoon.
