Unforgettable Holiday at Hotel La Bisaccia – End of May in Sardinia My partner and I spent a dreamy week at Hotel La Bisaccia in Sardinia at the end of May. The hotel impressed us in every way. Here is our detailed review (Rating scale: 1 = poor, 5 = excellent): Location – 5/5 The hotel is perfectly located: just a short walk to the charming town center with various shops, and less than 100 meters to the private beach. From our balcony, we enjoyed a breathtaking view of the sea – a truly dreamy setting. Cleanliness – 5/5 Our room was thoroughly cleaned every day. Towels were regularly replaced, and soap and shampoo were consistently refilled. The attention to detail by the housekeeping staff was remarkable: my training pants were always neatly folded and placed lovingly on the pillow. The balcony chairs were always tidied, and the minibar was reliably restocked with fresh items. Food – 5/5+ We had half board and were thoroughly delighted with the culinary offerings. The breakfast left nothing to be desired – from fresh fruit, croissants, muesli, toast, various cheeses and cold cuts to a selection of fruit juices and even a dessert buffet for those with a sweet tooth. Dinner was a four-course meal, with three to four options to choose from for each course – appetizer, two main courses, and dessert. The cuisine was consistently top-notch: authentic Italian, skillfully prepared, always fresh, and bursting with flavor. The wine recommendations were excellent, and the wine was always served at the perfect temperature. Keep it up! Pool Bar – 5/5+ Each evening, we ended our day with a nightcap at the pool bar. The atmosphere was magical – a sea view, relaxed ambiance, and live music in the adjacent pavilion. The pianist was outstanding: his playing showed technical mastery and musical depth. From the softest pianissimo to grand fortissimo, he explored the full range of expression. His interpretations of Italian classics were especially delightful. A true highlight of our stay. Reception – 4.9/5 The reception staff was consistently friendly, helpful, and attentive. We felt welcome, well taken care of, and truly at ease. One minor point of criticism: one staff member seemed, at times, more focused on her freshly done nails and adjusting her glasses than on the guests in front of her. However, this hardly detracted from the otherwise very positive impression. Likelihood to Return – 5/5 Absolutely – we would return in a heartbeat! This hotel fully won us over. Conclusion: A heartfelt thank you to the entire team at Hotel La Bisaccia. These holidays were truly unforgettable – simply wonderful!

The Hotel La Bisaccia is a quaint, rustic establishment nestled on the eastern edge of the main beach in Baja, Spiaggia Cala Battistoni. My Wife and I spent 7 nights there in July for our honeymoon, booked via Tui. The first impression of our junior suite room upon arrival at night was that it looked outdated and a bit dingy in the low light. As the week went on we warmed to the room and its rustic appearance. Air conditioning was spot on and was nice to come back to a cool room at the end of each day. The bathroom still imo needs updating as the shower is a bit old fashioned but functional. Nice balcony and view of the sea from our room which was in a separate wing from the main hotel. Archaic minibar concept with massively inflated prices for drinks and snacks but we were able to use some space in the small fridge for our own bottled water. No tea or coffee making facility. Staff all very friendly and helpful with questions. Cleaners and ground staff busy around the hotel all cheery and friendly too. Chose not to eat dinner at the hotel due to the vast choice of restaurants in Baja but breakfast was very good each day with fruit, continental and cooked breakfast, tea, coffee and juices. Pool and bar area all very well kept and smart. There are some winding gardens and mini beaches within the hotel grounds. The main winning factor for this hotel is its location. A stones throw from its own private section of the main beach where you get a towel card and can go use the sunbeds each day. Only a further stones throw from the centre of Baja and its wide array of shops and restaurants. Bustling every evening! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend for couples who want peace and quiet!

Wonderful hotel. Absolutely gorgeous views, room and sunsets. We stayed in a Nelson suite (room 7) with sea views across to other parts of the island and to La maddalena archipelago. We had our evening meals included which was 4 courses, 4 choices for each course that changed every night. Food was delicious, well presented and the staff a perfect balance of attentive and allowing space. Thank you to all the amazing staff. We also took a boat trip directly from the hotel jetty for a magical day exploring the nearby islands. Beautiful clear waters and loads of fish, even around the hotel beaches. Simply paradise. Also be sure to get a daily gelato from ‘mr ice’ just along the road from the hotel in the little square :) Minor issue in the room was a lack of plug sockets and those that are there are not very well installed. Drinks at bar and minibar also a bit pricey.

While set in a dazzling location along the bay of Baja Smerelda, the Hotel Bisaccia is beset with internal problems: poor staff training, no visible management and an overriding attitude of disdain for the guests. Many of the staff act like they are doing the guest a favor by allowing the guest to stay at the property. After booking one of the most expensive rooms: a full ocean view room in the new annex, my husband and I were escorted to a room that had not been air conditioned for many hours and allowed us a view of the bay only from the outside (side) patio. There were no windows in the room that provided a view of the ocean. This was a 70th birthday trip for my husband and he was clearly disappointed with the room and the fact that it did not meet the description. The phone in the room did not work; it was not even connected, so it was impossible to call the front desk to discuss an alternate room. At almost $ 700/ night (US) the room should have been well appointed and ready for us. As we walked outside to discuss what we should do (it was too hot to stay in the room), we noticed a room, one over, at the very end of the annex, with a beautiful patio. The sliding glass door to the room was open (the air conditioning was on) and the room was clearly UNOCCUPIED, allowing us a view of the lay out. We decided we would ask the front desk if we could change to this room. The hotel was not booked to capacity, so this seemed a reasonable request. This request was met with YELLING from Laura, at the front desk, who proceeded to admonish us for looking at this room and asked us how we dared to come to her hotel and act like this. We were shocked and tried to explain that we had done nothing nefarious. She came close to accusing us of being thieves. The more we tried to explain, the more she yelled at us. This went on for about 5 minutes with us apologizing over and over. At this point, I thought it might be a 'translation' issue and that she did not fully understand our English explanation. Finally, she handed us the key to the new room, all the while yelling at us. Very shaken, we went to the 'new' room, and got ready to go to dinner in the hotel. We had just gotten seated in the hotel restaurant with a beautiful view over the bay, when an Italian woman asked the Maitre'd for a different table, one with a better view. This request was met with YELLING from the Maitre'd. When the woman's husband (never raising his voice) told the Maitre'd to calm down (in Italian), the Maitre'D yelled across the dining room that unless they respected him, they would not be allowed in his dining room. We were seated next to this table and much of the yelling from the Maitre'd was done across our table, although it was on display for the entire dining room. At this point, my husband and I decided we would have as little to do with the hotel as possible. We decided to book a day excursion to the Magdallena Islands from outside the hotel, instead of using the hotel's service. We went on this all day excursion and came back to our room at 5:30 PM, to find the door to our room unlocked. In addition, the maid had removed (thrown away) a basket of fruit and cookies set by our coffee service which we were eating as snacks. The night clothes I had folded and left on my pillow had been removed from the bed, and put inside my suitcase (meaning the lid was opened to place them inside). The room had not been secured by the maid when the room was cleaned (we left it locked), and clearly, the maid had not been trained to the dos and don'ts of a guests' room. Our experience with La Bisaccia started poorly and ended the same way, with the front desk refusing to give us the manager's name or contact information when we checked out. While the property is beautiful, do not spend your travel dollars at this poorly...

My partner and I spent a dreamy week at Hotel La Bisaccia in Sardinia at the end of May. The hotel impressed us in every way. Here is our detailed review (Rating scale: 1 = poor, 5 = excellent):
