The only positive aspect of this restaurant was the street entertainment from across the road. From the start, we were upsold a bottle of wine, trusting the waiter’s recommendation. When it came time to order our mains, I mentioned that I cannot eat gluten and asked for the sea bass, which the menu listed at €7.50 per 100 grams. I was told that I couldn't have this dish because it was too much for one person, even though the menu didn't specify that the price was for multiple people. Instead, I was offered the chef’s choice of white fish, which was €34—presumably another upsell. While my food arrived in a decent time, the other dish took an additional 25 minutes and, when it finally arrived, it was cold. Multiple waiters and waitresses came to our table with incorrect meals and made the same mistakes at other tables. When we complained, the waiter told us we were lucky because other tables had it worse. We were charged €4 per person for a tablecloth, and also for packet bread—which I couldn’t eat due to my previously stated gluten allergy—and condiments (oil, vinegar, sauces, salt, and pepper) that we never received. The waiter remarked, “This is Italy.” While we are Italian ourselves although English-speaking, we’ve never encountered such charges in Italy before. If we’re paying for a tablecloth, should I take it home with me next time? I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless you want to leave feeling disappointed with both the food and the service. This was our first night in Sardinia and it has left a negative impression...
Read moreThe service here was really disappointing, and the food was cold. There were 2 of us and food did not come out at the same time. We waited 40 minutes for food, then one meal came out (no salt & pepper, no oil/vinegar/alioli) and I had to wait an extra 25 minutes for my meal to come out. Staff kept trying to give me fish (when I ordered ragú pasta!), when I finally got the right meal it was very cold! It was so disappointing because we had paid a lot for a very basic and bad meal. Also no napkins were given and it was near impossible to get the limited waiters/waitresses attention to rectify any of our problems. On top of it all, we got charged 8€ for a tablecloth & bread charge which seemed very strange seeing as one of us was gluten free (they knew this) and we barely touched the bread basket (which we weren’t told we would be charged for) and was not aware we had to be charged for a tablecloth charge. Overall, was a very unfortunate experience as it was our first night in Sardinia. We complained but got nothing more than a complimentary shot. Staff were not welcoming, and the cold food did not make...
