I will start with the best and go through to the bad things.
To start with, the personnel and the service are really good, very nice and very polite. I don't think anyone can complain about it at this hotel. It was very easy to book a room, communication since the check in was very easy and prompt and the check in process was all fine without any delays.
Rooms are authentic, nice air conditioning and the mini bar was able to cool down what we brought. The rest are average and standard. Cleaning of the rooms are very nice as well.
Having your own beach is a very nice advantage. Weather was not very nice during our stay so it was not very busy with sun beds but I am not sure if that would be that much easy if it was better. I noticed that many customers are "reserving" sun beds and not even using them during the whole day. This might needed to be solved by the management.
Beach is fantastic, very nice to walk and swim. I really liked it. Hotel has two (maybe more) car parks and we were always able to find a place to park the car everyday. Nice to have!
Prices at the bars are fair and not expensive than a restaurant.
Here comes the bad parts though. Isolation in the room are horrible. I mean really horrible. Literally I can hear what people are speaking (or doing!) in the neighbouring rooms. I can even know when they receive a notification. For instance one of my neighbours was using an Android phone. I know because I hear the notification sound and I know that tone :) So for anyone who is sensitive to noise, you might want to reconsider.
For sun beds, they were available on the beach but they are not very comfortable to be honest. You can completely lie down for instance to get tanned on your back because sun beds are sun "chairs".
We had only bed and breakfast but I have to say that that was a disappointing breakfast for an Italian place. There was no any "fresh/hot" food such as a point that you can get omlette, pancakes etc. These were ready made and served there and most of the times they are cold already. Even the toaster had a broken handle and it takes a few breakfasts to figure out how it actually works. Long story short, breakfast is not good, below an average hotel. I was expecting better food.
Lastly (I am pretty sure this is written in somewhere with small letters but) check out time 10:00 AM is also very very disappointing. I literally had some shampoo on my head when we got a call from reception reminding us that and we had to pack our stuff at the car park. We were able to manage it but was not very pleasant with wet hair at the windy conditions.
So long story short, I would not stay here again for the same price that I paid. I would only consider staying here again if I pay around 100-120 euros per night, not more. I am sorry but that is the fair price that this...
Read moreI have have just returned from a week at the Grand Hotel Smeraldo Beach in Baja Sardinia and simply could not fault it. As noted in other reviews the location is picture perfect with the hotel benefiting from its own private stretch of beach and within 5-10 minutes walking distance of the small resort centre, although its worth noting that some of the inclines might be challenging for those with walking difficulties. ||Again as noted the half board option was really good value with all the usual choices at breakfast and the evening meal which consists of four courses was always enjoyable, wines ranged in costs upwards of 25 euros per bottle so not cheap but similar to those elsewhere.||I can see that many people have commented on the rooms being dated which is true, but in my opinion this only added to the rustic charm of the hotel and the option of a sea view room is highly recommended. What did surprise me was just how busy the hotel was for mid September as I had expected the hotel to be quietening down for the end of the season, but no the opposite was the case as it was really busy, with a wide variety of guests from many different nationalities.||I was slightly concerned over some review noting that the sun beds were difficult to find in the morning due to other guests reserving them first thing and whilst this did occur we never found any problems finding one and enjoyed all the nooks and crannies which were tucked away around the hotel grounds. Again as noted the staff were marvellous and attentive so again no concerns. Worth highlighting that the nearest supermarket is a 15 minute uphill walk at a steady pace. ||In summary, we really enjoyed our time and would recommend this hotel for a family or couple looking for a...
Read moreI am currently staying at your hotel in room 345. I wish this letter find out the manger.
I would like to share a disappointing experience I had at your beachfront restaurant. I was sitting peacefully when a lady approached me and politely asked if she could take one of the chairs. I agreed with no issue. Shortly after, another lady who works at the restaurant came over and began speaking to the group near me, saying that they could not sit together as a group of five and must split into two tables.
To my surprise, she pointed at my table and then told me to leave. I informed her that I had already ordered a pizza and that we were only three people at the table. She responded by saying the kitchen was closed and that if I had any complaints, I should go speak to the reception.
Frankly, I found her tone and behavior very unprofessional and rude. I was shocked to be treated this way as a guest at your hotel. This is not the level of hospitality or respect I expected.
To be fair, I would like to mention that the reception team has been professional and respectful throughout my stay, which I truly appreciate. Their attitude was in sharp contrast to the restaurant staff member, whose behavior was rude and unnecessarily aggressive. She could have easily communicated with me in a more respectful and understanding way.
Also, I would like to point out that several basic items were missing from my room, such as tissues, a trash bin inside the room, and an iron. These are essential amenities that I expected to be available in a hotel of this standard.
I hope you take this feedback seriously and look into improving your staff’s behavior and communication with guests...
