Bolzano and its surroundings are breathtaking! Overall the stay was excellent. The rooms were quite simple, but very clean and equipped with everything neccessary. The location of the hotel is particularly good, as it is very close to the old town of Bolzano, but not in an overly crowded place (though there's quite a bit of traffic on the street during the day). It has a nice garden and a small pool. There's also a tiny room where you can work-out and a Sauna, both of which were nice. My family and I really appreciated the girls at the reception, they were all extremely kind and always greeted us with a smile. Can't say the same about the owner of the hotel, though. At first I thought it was a normal employee, because he served us at the bar, but then later during our stay one of the receptionists said that she had to consult her manager - the owner of the hotel - for advice on something and to my surprise it turned out to be said guy. I'm surprised that the person running the hotel is so unfriendly. We decided to prolong our stay and when we went to the reception to ask if it was possible he was the one we talked to. You'd expect him to be polite and friendly, HAPPY about the fact that we are essentially giving him more money, but nope. We were perceived to be a complete and utter inconvenience apparently. He replied in an annoyed manner and even rolled his eyes. While this was happening, one of the girls at the reception smiled at us in an apologetic way.. this leads me to think that sadly he treats both his customers and his employees badly on a regular basis. It's truly a pity! The hotel has great potential (though some things are a bit old and at times it feels overpriced for what it is), but I am convinced that the true downfall of the hotel is the manager/owner. It baffles me how he's able to hire amazing staff, but he himself is unbearably rude. Doesn't he realize that treating customers badly is essentially ruining the hotel's reputation? Anyway, if I were to return to Bolzano I might consider going to this hotel again, although I've seen other beautiful hotels while...
Read moreVery friendly serivce. especially our waiter. Great location. The other guests were also very friendly and the town its located in isn't too tourism heavy to be annouying.
If i would have one complain its that the wifi is was really bad during certain hours.
During the day its decent. but once the evening kicks in i had troubles staying connected. It will be sufficient to check your mails but if you plan on doing evening skype calls with your family you might have a hard time staying connected.
The food was very good. Although if you are staying for a long time you might want to order a la carte sometimes. The menus included in the half pension deal are usually 4 of each course. so 4 starters (these are often pasta's and are REALLY good.) there are also 4 different main dishes of wich 1 is fish and 3 are meat. (it is however the same type of meat so if you don't like that type of meat like i do you will be eating alot of fish).
There are also 4 types of desserts you can freely pick with your half pension wich are all really good. though you should deffinitly try the creme brûlee.
This is an great hotel for if you are planning to go hiking in the mountains or if you are going on a cycling trip. It is one street away from the train station. And is located in a really fun and relaxing little town. Surrounded by mountains. i would definitly recommend it for people that are looking to enjoy the nature...
Read moreI have been here twice now over two years and would come again.|This is a mid size hotel in an old building but the interior has been completely modernised. The decor can seem a little spare initially - the walls are white and there is quite a lot of bare light coloured timber - but I came to really enjoy it. All the rooms I have had have been very spacious, immaculately clean and very functional. Bathrooms are excellent and the AC works very well.|Breakfast is great. The selection of sweets on offer is beyond the usual offering in Italy, which means there is a lot to choose from. Of more interest to me though is that they also have great quality wholemeal bread, unsweetened muesli and quite a lot of fruit. Hot food is also on offer.|Perhaps a slight disadvantage of this hotel is that it is about 700m from the old town centre, but on the other hand the building sits on a large block. A real highlight is that there is a great outdoor pool in a really nice garden setting. On a hot summers day I spent several hours here just relaxing.|Staff have always been very helpful and friendly.|If I come to Bolzano I will...
