Hotel Lido International. — Hotel in Desenzano del Garda

Great experience until check out.

I stayed one night , the room was impeccable, the afternoon staff were very kind professional and helpful.

The pool staff and bar service was great. Excellent cocktails, granted you have to wait a bit but they are made with dedication so totally worth it .

Breakfast was absolutely amazing . Where the bittersweetness comes in was at checkout : the staff seemed uncoordinated , and frustrated with each other .

When it came to the bill there were discrepancies from what the afternoon receptionist told me and the morning one . It got resolved but the morning receptionist had no problem throwing her collègue under the bus claiming she didn’t do her job right. Which surprised me because between the 2 receptionist the afternoon one from the previous day was far more eleoquent and professional , where as the morning crew seemed to have woken up on the wrong foot and their frustration was felt in the way they spoke .

The last issue I had was the payment , I paid by card and after putting in the pin the machine was quickly taken back and i wasn’t allowed to select the currency for how my card should be billed which is so wrong. It’s the cardholders choice not the establishment . If the bill is in euros it will be paid in euros but it’s the cardholders choice to choose which currency they want to be charged depending on their agreement with the bank about fees and exchange rate. I was furious . Because the excuse and explanation again was to throw someone else under the bridge.

It’s a shame I had a lovely afternoon and sunset experience pity it ended sourly .

I recommend the staff get better sleep and work on team...

We absolutely loved our stay at Lido Hotel International in Desenzano del Garda! My first impression was that it was smaller and older than I had expected, but that quickly disappeared the moment we experienced the warmth of the staff, the stunning lakefront location, and the charm of the hotel. A special mention to Manuel and the two girls in the bar, who made every visit a delight. The outdoor bar, set right on the lakeside, was the perfect place to enjoy a drink with complimentary snacks often provided.||The location is unbeatable – right on Lake Garda, with a pool beside the water and breathtaking views. Our room was a generous size with large sliding doors and a spacious balcony, not tiny like many other hotels. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully scented, and featured modern décor. The bed and pillows were quite firm, and the daily cleaning was done promptly to an exceptional standard.||The buffet breakfast was the best I’ve had anywhere – a delicious spread of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, and perfectly cooked scrambled eggs.|| It’s just a short five-minute walk along the lakeside promenade to the charming shops and cafés of Desenzano, and there is convenient paid parking for guests right on site.||I looked at all the other hotels I had considered and felt absolutely thrilled with my decision to book Lido for its unbeatable location, amazing staff, and everything it offered.
