Front staff Marco checked us in and Kevin was helpful the day we checked out showed us the room where we could store our luggage. Upon check in marco upgraded our room to one with a balcony and i believe a bigger room than the one we booked. I paid the city tax and they were the only hotel to give a receipt for it.

Dinner room staff and the housekeeping staff all were pleasant to deal with it. Everyone was helpful and kind throughout our stay.

Before my arrival i had emailed the property multiple times and they promptly responded to all my questions. 5/5 for communication.

Room was clean and spacious with a closet. There was one queen bed along with one single bed. Its a bit dated in terms on style but it was clean. Bathroom was small but clean and there was toiletries which were replaced everyday. the ac in our room was amazing. It worked so well and would cool the room so quick one of the best ac in all of Europe during my trip.there were some mosquitos in the room they do give something to use in the room to help with it but it wasnt enough i got a few bites.

The flush for the bathroom was a bit outdated and you would have to press it a bit hard to make it work and the bathroom door for our room wouldnt close without a lot of effort.

Room had a dumb tv with local channels only so no netflix etc. outlets are on the side of the bed.

Breakfast was complimentary and honestly 5/5 in my opinion. They had a huge selection of pizza desserts jam butter eggs toast cereal juices drinks. I could only ear the veggie options and no meat and there was still enough variety for the 4 mornings i ate there. Helped us get started for the day of sightseeing and took out the step of planning to find some place to eat right in the morning.

We also asked if we could drink the tap water and they said yes but there was a filter available to use in the dining room for all guests and we refilled our bottle without any issues.

The lift was a lil slow but it worked fine i dont think there is any ac in there.

I felt safe walking to and from the hotel even at night the front desk always had someone. The lobby area was well kept, there are few steps to enter the hotel and a few more to get to the lobby. The doors to the hotel would be locked and you can ring in never took more than half a second for someone to let us in.

While i was planning my trip and reading reviews a lot of the ppl complained abt noise from the tracks i dont know if there wasnt a lot of traffic during my stay but i did not hear any noise from the rail racks. I was apprehensive coming in but happy to report there was no noise at all. If it helps my room was on the 4th floor. Im a light sleeper and small disturbance can become nuisance but during my 4 day stay i slept fine there was no track noise at night or even during the evening time. During the day i was out sightseeing so i cannot say if there was any noise then.

If noise is something you are worried abt i would say request for 4th floor as per my experience.

If i ever come back to Florence i would happily book this place again.

My only suggestion would be to

  1. replace the tv with a basic smart tv
  2. put in chargers with multiple device options it would help elevate the customer experience
  3. replace bedding/blanket. The sheets were fine but the blankets were outdated and could use some new ones 4)...

An honest review… Disappointing..

Located by the train station which is convenient, when travelling from Pisa airport, however that particular area appears to be quite run down, grimey / ghetto. There are much nicer areas to stay just 5 mins walk away.

Breakfast was below average for us, we ate only once there in 6 days and that was a bowl of cornflakes. Scrambled eggs were tasteless & just everything presented from cold meats to the selection of breads did not look at all appetising.

In any event, it really is the staff that make or break your experience.. Unfortunately the staff came across very rude and not willing to help, extremely laid back and very dismissive, such a shame! We requested for a taxi and this could not be organised, we were asked to go to the bottom of the street and try wait for one, they couldn’t organise a taxi for their guests, which is unheard of in our experience staying in hotels. We asked for assistance with our luggage upon checkout but we were told that they don’t offer this service.. Kevin who worked at the front desk seemed the most cheerful out of the reception staff. With the right training and leadership, he could be an asset for the hotel.

Overall not a great experience and we most likely will not be returning here, which is a shame as we stayed here many years ago and the experience was different. Hopefully this review can better the hotel, management should look into these reviews/ experiences shared by their guests, take an overview and better the hotel in all departments, starting with the staff at the front desk, as they are the face of the hotel! They have the first encounter with their guests, they should be much more welcoming and hospitable, willing to accommodate their guests and be much more cheerful.

On a positive note, the bed was comfy, the room was relatively clean, the WiFi worked very well, location is convenient if you require the train station.

We always like to end on a positive :)

All the very best for the future..

Overall, my experience at this hotel was disappointing. The towels had stains initially, but they were replaced the next day. However, the bedsheets had holes, which was quite concerning as this is 3 star hotel. The lack of soundproofing was a major issue as I could hear people talking, taking showers, and flushing toilets throughout the night, causing disruptions to my sleep on multiple occasions.

The noise levels made it difficult for me to enjoy my stay, and I would not choose to stay at this hotel again. The breakfast was satisfactory, and the location was good and staff were friendly, but the noise problem overshadowed any positive aspects.

I considered asking for a new room, but overheard others complaining about the same noise issues, making me believe that it might be a recurring problem throughout the hotel. As for the claim of bed bugs some reviews have mentioned there were no beg bugs in my room however, I found ants on the floor instead, and I took pictures as evidence. Its essential for them to address the pest issue as well.

In summary, I cannot recommend this hotel due to the lack of soundproofing. The friendly staff and location were not enough to compensate for the disturbances and discomfort caused during my stay.

Just read the reply of the hotel manager and I just wanted to let you know that yez i did extend as soon as I checked in because I had also booked another night in Florence with a different hotel but cancelled as thier checkin time was late and as I mentioned i found the hotel staff friendly.. the nightmare started at night when people started to shower and flush the toilets. I believe someone also checked in late on one night who had shower very late.

I would advise the manager to run the showers in both the room and then try to sleep or flush the toilets. You will see what I mean. I hope you fix the issue for other...

It was the third time I stayed at this hotel, and every time I like it more. The staff is extremely kind, they let me check in earlier since the room was ready and also offered me breakfast as they were serving it when I arrived. I found it very thoughtful of them. They are always ready to help and answer any questions you might have. This time I had a single room, which is very spacious for one person. The mattress is really comfortable and the shower is great. I even had a view of the Duomo, which was a lovely surprise when I was opening my window. The breakfast is very complete, including eggs, sausages, pancakes, fruit, bread, and even rice! Another highlight is that the check-out is at 12 pm, so you can sleep a bit more or even go for a walk without needing to rush. After you check out, you can leave your luggage at the hotel if you want. The hotel is conveniently located around 3 minutes from the train station. I definitely recommend it and can't wait to stay there again the next time I'm in Firenze.
