Venchi — Restaurant in Florence

Fantastic gelato! But also very expensive.

The ordering system is not clearly stated, so ordering can be difficult. I thought I could just order a cone or cup and a flavour, but these are the options you must choose from:

*Cone or cup. *Small, medium, large. *Chocolate coating and type of nuts (hazelnuts, walnuts, etc) for the cone or cup. *Type of syrup (caramel, chocolate, etc). *Flavour of gelato (apparently I had to choose 2 flavours).

Ordering these options may sound simple, but it is chaos! After ordering and paying, the attendant who scooped my gelato had to ask me the same questions about the chocolate coating and syrup. And apparently I had to have 2 flavours of gelato, not the 1 flavour I ordered.

This station venchi is the worst venchi. If you wanna eat venchi ice cream, don’t come to this one. The lady waitress served as a bad attitude. I asked a 2 flavours with a 1.5€ added corn. Should be 4.7€ in all. She received my 10€ note and return 0.3€ change. The reason was she doubled what I ordered. And first of all, she didn’t wanna return my 4.7€, and insisted on her way was right. She insisted on I exactly ordered two. HOWEVER, NO ONE CAN EAT TWO CORNS IVE NO IDEA WHY SHE ORDERED TWO CORNS FOR ONE CUSTOMER. How strange it is! After she returned me money, she served me very bad. At least the quality of the ice cream was enough. I was not too mad. BUT JUST MENTION YOU, GO TO THE CITY CENTRE TO...

Their fresh spread is so delicious that I bought a bar of it to take back to the US. Similar to Nutella, but so so so fresh, smooth, creamy, hazel nutty, and oily. Also their hazelnut gelato is their most popular flavor and my goodness it was delicious. I usually pick non chocolate flavors instead when getting ice cream/gelato, but I'm so glad I agreed to try this flavor. It was so good we went twice!

I also prefer gelato in cups but we got the cone with chocolate and nuts. They took a plain cone and put some of the fresh spread which runs out of a faucet and dipped it in nuts. Sooooo good. Worth the extra 1.50...
