I reached Hotel Bellevue around 11.10pm at night, a female, solo traveller. Had advised them of my check in time. My check in experience wasn’t great - those instincts were later proved right|the single room given was horrendous, the hotel itself is run down, but things I took umbridge to included; heavy stained carpet outside the room, the whole room and the bathroom absolutely reeking of cigarette smoke, a cracked sink, dust and dirt all over skirting boards and dirty bedding - mould and stains and hair on the sheets once I’d pulled back the cover. I was in the room less than 5 mins and decided yes I did need to say something. Approached reception + he immediately put me on edge with his attitude to my approach|I politely asked for another room and mentioned all of the above to which he was very grumpy. I insisted I would need another room (shouldn’t have had to do so after my first ask) and he angrily asked what had I used or touched in the room - I said the only thing I’d moved was the cover of the bed to check the sheets, which were mouldy, stained & had hairs in. Instead of being apologetic, he lost his temper and accused me of ‘using the room and now wanting to use another room’ I reiterated that I had pulled back the cover to check the sheets were clean and they were in fact not. He angrily + begrudgingly gave me another room after losing his temper. He made a really big deal about giving me another room - which was a double, but it was also awful - gaffer taped on shower, filthy shower tray, cracked sink, dust and dirt everywhere. Really dated + dirty but was too shaken up to go back out.|Breakfast awful - plastic wrapped cheese, nothing fresh, filthy walls, exposed plug points, dirty plates|the only time I’ve ever made a complaint via Booking.com, had to pay up front for this hotel which is maddening as then hotels think they can get away with this. Booking.com have refused to refund me saying only the hotel can. Hotel refusing...
Read moreQuestionable cleanliness (towels and linen looked clean enough, but there were se suspicious spots on the bathroom floor and an old, rusty shower with poor water pressure. Central heating was not working so we arrived in a cold room (but there was AC that you could set to warm). We also had to deal with one extremely rude front desk officer. The front desk officer asked my sister and brother in law to pay the city task while doing the checkout for their room and when my brother in law tried to show him that the Booking reservation showed that all taxes had been paid, he became angry and started shouting at them and calling them ethnic slurs, and then refusing to accept payment saying he would pay for it himself (!?). They finally managed to pay for both of our rooms, and then he tried to charge me the city tax too when I came down to do the checkout moments later. I think there are plenty of similarly priced stays in the area that would be much...
Read moreEven thought the hotel is in the city center, please do not trust the edited pictures, the hotel is on the very busy road and if you are booking a room with them you need a parking and their parking is 50 meters away from the hotel and you have to pay 15 euros per night for the it, now about the so called hotel its shady, old and depressing, we wanted something as pictures make you see but it was all only in pictures. the old gentleman who works their is only concerned about making money and is impolite and no manners at all and shouted at us after we told him that the hotel and the whole location is not what we were looking for. Since we booked the hotel only one hour before we arrived we asked him for the cancellation and tried explain the situation, his answer was throwing the key at us and shouting so we decided to pay for the cancellation charges and look for the new...
