Hotel Europa — Hotel in Genoa

Book anywhere else other than this hotel! It was 33 degrees in Genoa during our stay and the air conditioning didn’t work. The room was a sauna, we tried to sleep after a 6am flight and laid there sweating angrily instead. In the fridge there was no “minibar” as promised, only a half drank bottle of water from the previous guest. After complaining we were offered the room next door, which had the same non-functioning air conditioning which seemed to be from the 1960s. We tried to find other accommodation but everywhere was booked apart from those starting at €250 a night, so we had no choice but to stay. Eventually after threatening to call the police for lack of service paid for, we were offered a room on the top floor which had slightly better air conditioning. As a pregnant woman I found this entire situation with the heat unbearable and it lost us many hours of our first day in Genoa. I feel sorry for whoever was forced to sleep in those other rooms. To whomever runs this hotel- invest in better air conditioning! The rest of the stay was by no means perfect, but for the price paid everything was acceptable apart from the temperature....

very happy with this hotel, i would recommend. super nice comfy bed, nice bathroom with shower. very good location although because of that it’s noisy at night with live music. friendly staff with very easy check in. bar with cheap drinks downstairs. only complaint would be that they need to provide more towels, we only got one body and one hand towel. Couldn't give 0 stars. No wi-fi, shower was leaking, bathroom fan was louder than a 35-pound industrial jackhammer and the AC was barely working.

Temperature felt: Outside: 32°C Lobby: 38°C Elevator: estimate N/A, cellphone instantly melted. Room (with ''working AC''): 30°C, felt like meatsweats.

Would highly recommend if you'd like to be disappointed, are a lizard or if you like your room at sauna temperature.
