Tucked away in the coastal town, Al Castello is the perfect spot for a peaceful homely getaway. ||Was tempted to come here to see if all the reviews boasting great hosts and even better breakfast (the perfect combination in a B&B) were really true. ||Safe to say it didn’t disappoint! ||Even after a few months and a one night stay we still remember the delicious cakes and treats Claudia would bake!||||The location is quiet and fairly far from Milan - had to get a 2 hour train to Colico and then 30 minutes bus (get off on 1st stop for Gravedona for hotel - 2nd stop is other side of town!).||You need to be okay with stairs (both outside and in the house), and rooms have an unusual layout (with bathroom up a flight of stairs)||But besides inconveniences, it is a truly picturesque place.||||Many thanks again Claudia and Mamma for the warm welcome. ||Hope you are all...

Read moreOur stay here was the best one during our whole 10-day trip around Italy. The building is a historic one, it even has mosaics inside that are hundreds of years old. When you are going up the stairs you feel the history. It has a nice common balcony where we drank our evening and morning coffee. The rooms are small but comfortable, we only had carry-on luggage so it was fine but if you have large luggage it might not fit to the room. The rooms and kitchen area were spotless clean. The hosts are very nice and gave us recommendations about what to eat - where to go around the town. The breakfast is just extraordinary, homemade jams, cheese, bread, yogurt, fresh fruit and others... I still remember the taste of those delicious freshly baked muffins
