Quick summary before I get into detail:||||1. Very unsafe for belongings as your room key can open every other room in the hotel. They provide 1 generic key for all of the rooms. ||We accidentally discovered this. Anyone staying in that hotel can access your room!||||2. Owners seriously lack customer service skills. They were threatening, very rude and extremely disrespectful to my wife and I.||||I don't normally review many hotels but feel like I have to give these guys a review. I've never in my life had a hotel/accomodation experience like this.||||My wife and I checked into the hotel on the 16th July in the evening. The owner at reception gave us the key and we went up to our room, the corridor was pitch black so couldn't see a thing. I thought I read 4 on the key but it was actually 5. I walked into room number 4 and locked it when we went in (with the key for room 5) without realising. After showering, we went out to for dinner and came back to realise we put our stuff in the wrong room, so we took our stuff out and moved it into room 5. We felt our stuff was unsafe from then as anyone in that hotel could have accessed our room!!! ||||Then next day upon check out the owners told us we had to pay 30€ for the extra room cleaning (mind you this was just replacing towels and fixing the bed a bit)! In hindsight we should have told them about the room dilemma the night before but it was late and we were tired.||||I calmly told them it was an accident and we shouldn't have been able to access and lock a different room with a key for another room! Within 10 seconds I said I wasn't going to pay and the lady immediately threatened to call the police! I was shocked and couldn't believe the threat. The argument got a bit heated between us where the man (other owner) started putting his fingers in my face. I didn't swear at him or anything until he called me "stupid". Every time I argued the fact that "why can I access another room with the key?" comment, the man went quiet and just argued a different argument. Guilty as sin!||||I got my wife, paid the 30€ and got out of there as quick as possible just to avoid any further altercation. They continued to yell at us as we were leaving. ||||We were absolutely shocked and appalled by this place! Worst hotel experience...

Read moreThe hotel is located uphill close to the lake shore promenade of Gravedona. It is clean, staff is super-friendly and breakfast is well sorted. There is free parking with plenty of space available. From our room we had a bit of a view of the surrounding hills which was nice.||||Unfortunately, the hotel didn't meet our expectations for various reasons: (1) From the hotel pictures it looked like it would be possible to have breakfast on an outdoor terrace with lake view which is not the case. Well, it's my fault to assume that a table with champagne in front of a beautiful sunny lake view would imply an outdoor breakfast terrace with lake view for every one. Apperently, for the picture they put a table with two chairs on tha balcony of one of the upper rear rooms so that you get this impression. My fault, but that's what made me book this hotel. Breakfast was then located on the 1st floor with view on the parking lot so unfortunately not as expected. (2) The hotel is not the newest anymore and has very bad soundproofing. You could easily hear people shower and talk in their bath from next door / upper level (don't know exactly where it came from). The balconies are tiny. (3) Although the breakfast is OK, the coffee wasn't. I tried the normal drip coffee as well as the cappuccino and they were both not up to italian standards. When in Italy one of the most beautiful things is to sit down for breakfast (preferrably outside) and enjoy an awesome cappuccino to start the day. Here, the coffee didn't meet our expecations. Furthermore, juice was some kind of instant mixed with fresh juice. Bread and sliced meat was excellent though. Putting it all together the hotel was too expensive for the amenities offered. I'd recommend paying a bit more and staying in a place with an actual outdoor terrace with lake view (if in your budget) or paying much less and enjoy your breakfast in a cafe right in...
