The hotel is near to city center which is definietly a great plus. The staff is polite, nice and speaks English well. The breakfast is a rip-off, since for 5 euros you can get way better food & coffee from any of the bars nearby, however the restaurant staff is kind and pleasant, so the quality doesn't depend on their dedication I guess. The room was spacious, liked the bed and the antique furniture. Sadly the paint is falling from some points of the wall and ceiling, and I discovered mold in some corners as well as dirt on the walls, so a full paint job should be done in room 311 ASAP in my honest opinion. The bathroom is small, narrow and old, some renovation could happen there as well. The rooftop terrace is amazing, I don't know why they don't operate a small cafe or something there. Overall the staff is putting their hearts and best knowledge into this hotel even there is no proper reception desk, so the receptionist and the concierge have to sit on a bar chair, next to small plexiglass table (!!!). The staff do what is humanly possible to keep this old building in shape, so they can be proud of themselves. My opinion is more addressed to the owners of this hotel, so they'll start to open up for investing into this asset, since it is an unpolished gem in the middle of a buzzing...

Short access from train station. |||| I had late arrival because the trains were really booked and I couldn´t have the fast train from Amalfi. And it takes its time to get in ferry from mainland to Sicily :) But anycase - the matron was nice to give me a call, when I arrived. Not speaking english but I went this 1 km with taxi and the driver and matron sorted me in to the hotel. -- You press the night ward button, say that you are staying there, you get buzzed in and there is key card for your room in the lobby waiting for late arrivals. After 7 pm, Italian time.||||I did payed extra for balcony, but when I got to the room there was information not to enter to balcony. And that was in italian :). ||||But I did have my roomy space and self made tea for breakfast - so nice :). And I must say that southern Italians and Sicilians are so...
I was given a small single room which was different from what i booked. No staff except on WhatsApp (it was Sunday when I arrived)-. She was quick to respond. At first she said i made the mistake but when i showed the pictures of what i booked, i was given the right room. Good thing also the 1st room had no heating even though card was inserted into the control panel. Self check-in to new room and i had to take new key myself. Zero human contact. 2nd room - Huge room but extremely cold. Floor had beautiful tiles but freezing cold. Hotel didn’t provide slippers. Toilet too small. Bidet blocked the door to the shower. Had to be very careful or else may fall! Location is probably the only positive thing about this hotel. The staff at checkout NOT...
