Al Cenacolo — Restaurant in Modena

If you ever go to Modena, you definitely must go to this seafood restaurant. Absolutely delicious at very reasonable price. I had: sashimi seafood platter, pasta with lobster and grilled seabass (catch of the day). Every dishes were fresh and flavourful, providing by professional service. The sashimi was so fresh, especially the canabineros prawn. The lobster pasta was to die for, you have to eat this, my daughter and my husband loved it (ask for well-cooked spaghetti if you r not familiar with hard one). The restaurant is filled with loads of colouful and exciting paintings. Absolutely perfect atmosphere for family, couples and friends. I also had the chance to meet the owner, he’s so kind and he gave me his book and I found out he’s an artist. Didnot have the opportunity to take a picture with him. Also after the meal, me & my daughter were given roses which added to my magnificient experience to the restaurant. I’ll definitely come back to Modena because of...

Walk up the stairs to the restaurant, you'll be greeted by some fresh seafood. Everyone had different dishes, including a couple prix-fixe 4 course meals in our group. Everyone was completely satisfied with the freshness & the favors. What makes this restaurant special was the little unexpected touches: the starter of white wine for the table, then an additional focaccia basket and ending with the cleansing palate lemon sorbet...all of these were extras they treated us to as part of the whole dining experience. Even more delightfully surprising, this meal with more food was still less expensive and just as fantastic as the meals we had within the Modena city walls. Oh, and the ladies all came away with roses. Note: the art work is novice and whimsical but has its own charm, don't let that be the deciding factor on the master favors...

Servono almeno due indizi per avere una prova seria . Il primo indizio non è stato positivo A me spiace anche scriverlo (visto l'impegno del gestore-proprietario che serve con grande umilta'anche i piatti al tavolo) Ma ieri non è funzionato niente.. Il locale stile anni 80..è distribuito su piu' piani . L'ingresso alla struttura sembra piu' l'entrata di un cinema vecchio stile o di un Hotel... Sulla destra entrando si intravede il vecchio forno per pizze ormai inutilizzato ,ufficialmente per colpa del Covid,ma secondo me piu' per scelta di immagine....un immagine che vorrebbe essere quella di un Ristorante Top Alla sinistra della suddetta entrata c'è una scala che conduce il cliente alla prima delle salette ristorante...ma purtroppo (scelta pessima...sopratutto in questo momento , quando si potrebbe sfruttare l'accoglienza per controllare i green pass )non c'è nessuno preposto ad accogliere il cliente...che viene completamente abbandonato all'intuizione personale per capire come muoversi. Il servizio è stato lento e di qualità insufficiente.... Il cameriere capo (almeno quello sembrerebbe dall'immagine trasmessa) prende le ordinazioni a memoria senza scrivere... ed è una pessima scelta, in quanto passa un paio di volte a confermare l'avvenuta memorizzazione della comanda....(forse per autocelebrare la sua professionalita'?) O per prendere tempo? A parte un prosecco di benvenuto offerto dalla casa....(dopo 20 minuti dall'arrivo) si è dovuto attendere per avere dell'acqua arrivata poi insieme al pane ( dei panini artigianali serviti di abitudine,mi è parso di notare, insieme a della focaccia e un po' di stria ... questi ultimi arrivati pero' dopo gli antipasti e solo dopo aver sollecitato piu' volte il cameriere mnemonico) La cena (con portate miste di carne e pesce) non è stata di buon livello o quantomeno non del livello della fama del famoso Cenacolo che si fregia di servire pranzi e cene da 3 generazioni a Modena. Il prezzo pagato non discosta molto dalle aspettative...ma purtroppo non risulta congruo con la qualità di cio' che si è ottenuto. Per dare la possibilità di riscatto allo staff ed alla proprietà ..ci sarà una seconda visita... Magari scegliendo altre tipologie di portate... Neanche I dolci tipici campani Baba' Pastiera e caffe' a chiusura di cena , hanno entusiasmato me e i miei...
