Hotel Concordia — Hotel in Montecatini Terme

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. To say the least, the hotel is modest. It's ok to sleep over for a night or two, the walls are very thin and you can hear absolutely everything, but we were so tired that in the evening we just passed out. Too few functional sockets in the rooms. And mattresses are not exactly a joy. It's old and it shows. On the positive side: Our bathroom was recently remodeled, with a shower, hair dryer, and bidet. The rooms have functional air conditioners. A few days before the trip, I read hotel reviews and was terrified, I even brought disinfectants from home. However, the room was clean and tidy. Every day we received clean towels, the bed was made and the room was ventilated. No one even looked or touched our personal belongings. The bedding had not a single stain, no hair in sight, no bed bugs. The hotel has an elevator. The breakfast is also modest, but just enough for us. The hotel staff was always friendly and smiling. From my child point of view, the hotel was great(5☆) because there were birds and a dog, so... everyone has their own priorities I guess. If you come, bring mosquito repellent, the hotel is not to be blamed for that, but the location, they are surrounded by greenery and nature. Maybe it wouldn't be bad if there were nets on...

I honestly can't say I saw a worst hotel. The towels we got were ripped with holes, the drain in the bathtub wasn't working, the heating was so low ot was really cold in the room the whole 3 days (trip was in Jan). Food is also really bad and the breakfast does not last as they said it would. It really old building without any renovations. The beds are the ones where the only thing holding the mattress is a wire, very uncomfortable and old mattresses. One of the windows couldn't open at all and one curtain couldn't be lifted. The mini bar wasn't working since it didn't have any cable at all. The walls are very thin so you'll here everyone from your floor and what they are doing and talking about. Not to mention it is stated there are cameras in the room which is invading privacy unfortunately we only saw this the lastday. The service is terrible and the hosts are very unpleasant. Would never go again...

Zuerst waren wir nach den ganzen negativen Bewertungen verhältnismäßig positiv überrascht, bis wir nach der ersten von drei Nächten Stiche überall am Körper festgestellt haben. Nachdem wir der Rezeption mitgeteilt haben das wir Bettwanzen haben verneinten diese es und gaben uns auch kein anderes Zimmer, weil wohl alle besetzt waren. Lediglich neue Bettwäsche haben wir bekommen, obwohl Bettwanzen bekanntlicher Weise auch in der Matratze usw sind. Die zweite Nacht war noch wesentlich schlimmer mit jeder Menge Mücken, da wir zwischen Fenster geschlossen und mega schwitzen (da die Klimaanlage natürlich kaputt ist) oder eben mit Fenster offen und dafür eventuell ein haufen Mücken entscheiden mussten. Am nächsten Tag haben wir mal Spaßeshalber unsere Stiche (Bettwanzen und Mücken) gezählt: ich hatte bis dato 127 Stiche. Noch einmal, wir haben kein neues Zimmer bekommen und ich bin mir sicher, dass sie das Zimmer ohne intensive Reinigung weitervergeben. Abgesehen davon war das Duschgefühl sehr angenehm, nur leider war die Dusche relativ eng (bin relativ schmal gebaut). Es gab auch einen Föhn und einen Ganzkörperspiegel, der aber leider an der Innenseite des Schrankes befestigt war. Manche Zimmer haben einen Balkon. Da wir in einer größeren Gruppe waren, gab es das Essen in meistens 4 Gängen (weiß leider nicht wie es sonst wäre), bei denen wir aus Höflichkeit bis zum Dessert gewartet haben, das hat dann mal gut 2 Stunden gedauert. Das Essen war insgesamt in Ordnung. Dafür ist das Frühstück jedoch sehr gering ausgefallen: ein Buffet mit Brötchenscheiben, Butter, Schinken, 2 Sorten Marmelade, Kuchen, Joghurt und Cornflakes.
