Il Bistrò del Maialetto — Restaurant in Montecatini Terme

This is a wonderfully relaxed, upbeat, and welcoming bistro. The menu is all about meat (mostly) — lots of cured meats and meat sandwiches. I do believe there are some more vegetable based items as well.

I went as part of a group of 5. I would not recommend trying to sit more than that as the space inside is small. We had a great time!! The servers were so engaging and helpful. They were polite and fun to be served by.

We had a tasting plate of meats and cheeses — a must get! Everything was worth eating! I could have made a meal on that alone. I personally had the “Maialetto’s Pastrami”. It was excellent — brisket, caramelized onions, a sauce, on the very good bread. Others in my group very much liked their options. One of the highlights not pictured was a vegetable soup — it was really good. It was more like a soup with bread chunks in it and thus thick. But it was really good.

Ottima ubicazione, cibo fantastico, qualità prezzo nella media, peccato per il servizio. Siamo andati a mangiare in 3, prendendo cibo e bevande per un totale di spesa di 50€ a cranio. In vista di quanto fosse ottimo il cibo, abbiamo deciso di tornare a mangiare in questo locale, peccato che non hanno voluto i nostri soldi. Appena arrivati, avevamo una coppia di persone davanti a noi che è stata accolta da un cameriere anziano il quale ha proposto un tavolo alla coppia, che non ha accettato e se ne sono andati. Il cameriere ci ha ignorati questa volta e altre 3, guardandoci e andando a fare altro. A quel punto ho volto il mio sguardo verso Il cameriere giovane che ci aveva servito due sere prima, purtroppo senza successo, mi ha guardato e ignorato 2 volte. In quel momento sono andato da un altro cameriere che ci aveva servito due sere prima. Ho chiesto perché i suoi colleghi ci stessero ignorando, la sua risposta è stata "sicuramente non vi stanno ignorando, non vi avranno visto". Ho spiegato a lui la prima situazione con il cameriere anziano, il quale ci aveva ignorato 4 volte, il cameriere mi ha risposto "lo hai detto, è anziano, avrà guardato il vuoto". In seguito ho spiegato la seconda situazione con il cameriere giovane, il quale ci aveva ignorato 2 volte, il cameriere mi ha risposto "eh vabbò, vi avranno ignorato di proposito, se volete ho disponibile il tavolo 31".
