Beautiful landscaping, comfortable cushioned couches under umbrellas, and nice shaded indoor but open air tables. This is our favorite hangout place in Montecatini. Food is available all day, it is cool and comfortable, and we never felt that we were being hurried.
We spent 4 hours there one afternoon reading under the umbrellas when it was too hot to walk around. We progressed from coffee, to drinks, to dinner.
The hamburgers are outrageously good, we ordered them on our 3rd visit after a friend was raving about them. He suggested to not have the bread toasted as the firm Tuscan bun gets too hard. I can't believe I may make one my last meal in Montecatini.
I can also highly recommend the broiled salmon, the club sandwich, and the Caesar salad.
The seafood soup was too salty the day I ordered it and was chock full of pieces that needed to be shelled. The smoked salmon appetizer was good but too much salmon for one person.
The restaurant that is fairly empty all day is packed starting about 8pm with a fashionable crowd - MAKE RESERVATIONS for dinner, particularly if you want to eat outside.
The staff is friendly and efficient once you give them your order but we often had to go to them to order. The plus is that you didn't feel hurried which I decided was a fine trade off.
I will miss La Cascina when we leave...
Read moreLooks good and very appealing on the surface.... Just had a tempura mix plate which is 26€ for 5 piece of fish , rest is tempura vegetables..... Was pretty good but not worth the price in my opinion
Had a Japanese gin , was good and refreshing. Had a spritz limoncello (5€ on their card but 12€ on my bill 🤷) also very good and refreshing.
Finally had the yaki soba and so had my sister that was with me .... She barely touched her's. I finished mine but still regretting I finished my plate .....
Now drinking coca cola among other to make this bad bloated feeling go away but it doesn't 🤣🤣🤣
Final bill was 101 € for 2 people even sharing the appetizers
Just to much in my opinion for what it is better of going to a simple pizzaria or even an all u can eat asian buffet for 20€/person
Maybe I got the wrong things , maybe it's just not my cup of tea
I for sure won't be going...
Read moreI went with my mom to celebrate my birthday and the experience was disappointing. No one welcomed us, waiters were rushing around, and when we asked for a table one just said “no no” because we didn’t have a reservation—without even checking. We had to find someone else ourselves to finally get seated without asking for reservation.
Service was chaotic, with too many waiters running around. The food was good—ravioli and spaghetti nice (though the carbonara was sticky), Caesar salad surprisingly tasty, and the olive oil outstanding. Sadly, everything else ruined it.
At the end, we wanted to light my cake and take a photo. Waiters ignored us, and when a kind server tried to help, security stopped him. No candle, no photo, just stress and unfriendly staff.
Good food and interior, but terrible service. Not a place to celebrate...
