We were looking for B&Bs with a "family" style room, a Queen and a Single bed, as we were traveling with our college-aged daughter. Cherry, the owner, communicated frequently before our trip, and was very amenable to unforeseen changes in our arrival, as our train from Pisa Centrale was delayed. She came to the train station to drive us up the hill, as the location is in new town, and it is up a hill (about a 10 minute walk). Cherry noted that there were significant stairs (which we knew from TripAdvisor reviews) for when we wanted to leave and explore. Upon entrance to the B&B, we noted that there was a breakfast room, and a coffee maker (Keurig style) that Cherry said we could use anytime we wanted...a departure from some of our other experiences where we had to wait for breakfast to be served for our morning coffee. There was also a large bowl of fruit by the door to take as you wanted (good for the hiking).||Our room was large, easily fitting the queen and the twin bead, with plenty of storage space. It was very clean, and there were extra blankets if we needed them. The room had a balcony, with two seats and a small table, and a lovely view of the hills and the water. We had a refrigerator and glasses, very nice for our Cinque Terre wine purchases (highly recommend). The bathroom was not too large, but the shower was good and we had plenty of hot water and clean towels. ||Breakfast was really good, with a wide variety of items, including cereal, focaccia, fruit salad, granola, toast/bread, and hard-boiled eggs. It worked well for our party of 3, as we all have different tastes in food. It was also great to be able to get coffee early and sit on the terrace and enjoy the view. ||Overall, we had just a lovely visit, and want to return to Monterosso al Mare, to spend more time. We were here for two nights over an April weekend. Cherry also offered to drive us to the train station (we declined) and recommended an excellent restaurant. We did have to go up and down the staircase many a time, but we felt if we were there to hike the trails, it was a...
Read moreWell, despite all of our communications with Cherry we managed to miss her at the station in Monterosso, however it was our fault for not reading the instructions carefully enough. Cherry was extremely apologetic though she didn't need to be, we were just grateful that she was able to drive us with our cases to the apartment. The apartment had a lovely sea view and a balcony and it was spotlessly clean plus there was some fruit juice, a bowl of fruit and a large bottle of cold water in the fridge which was most welcome. The room had air con which was needed as our room was in the sun all day and could have become very hot. I also loved the colourful art work in our room it made it feel very much more homely.| Breakfast was available from 7.30 and there were plenty of things to choose from including fresh fruit every day. The area around the apartment was very quiet, a little bit away from the centre, but it was nice to walk back in the evening and we didn't find the 178 stairs too much of an issue, except for the evening after we had walked the Cinque Terre!|The accommodation is well run and we found Cherry most pleasant and helpful, we had no problems at all during our stay but felt she would have done all she could for us if we had run into...
Read moreThe location on a quiet street was convenient. The property is just a short walk to the restaurants and shops on Via Roma and about a 10-minute walk to the beach. Ground floor access with the small courtyard was nice. The room was clean. The Room was quiet. The breakfast served by Anna was excellent. WIFI worked Great. ||On the negative, The room is advertised as all on one floor - this is not true. The bed is located on a loft accessible by a spiral staircase. This is a challenge for older people or anyone who has a mobility issue, Also, you must navigate the stairs to use the restroom in the night. Also, the queen bed was tight for two people. This is why I did not give an excellent rating. ||It should be noted that this is not a hotel, but more of a bed and breakfast. There is no front desk. There are only 3 units. When we arrived, my name was on the window, the room was unlocked and the key was on the table. There is a attendant named Anna who serves breakfast and cleans. The owner is just a text away if needed and is responsive. This was...
