Stayed at Robby's House for 3 nights, and can't complain that much with the establishment. I'd never been Naples before, and was travelling round Italy for a month. After relative calm in all other cities, nothing can prepare you for Naples..!||Anyway, Robby's House; as mentioned by everyone else, Robby is a great host, very polite and obviously runs the place by himself. He's not there all the time but most days. All the rooms are colour co-ordinated and the bed I slept in was probably the most comfortable I'd slept in on my travels. Breakfast and kitchen area not great but ok. Two bathrooms are a good size, and I never had to wait to use. Wi-Fi throughout seemed to work no problem apart from the first night, maybe just a technical glitch. The B&B is close enough to the train station to walk (15 minutes), but be careful, the traffic not only has disregard for each other, but also to lights, crossings and humans..! The road it's down is quite grotty and noisy, but is close to plenty of places to see. Remember, this is a low value place, and don't expect the Ritz....
Read moreOur expectations weren't very high but when we got an email from the owner a couple of days before our arrival advising us that if we didn't tell him when we were going to arrive there may not be anyway for us to get in AND we HAD to pay cash only! A tax crook? Our poor expectations didn't even close. This is more like a second rate shelter for homeless people, the homeless would even reject it. Everything is done on the cheap, from thr pathetic postage stamp towels, the el cheapo linen that would be rejected at point of manufacture, the un comfortable bed, the sweat box room with a poor excuse for a fan to cool you from the Naples summer heat, the packaged, ineatable breakfast, thr bathroom that you have to go through the office and kitchen to get to. The non stop noise that permeates the place to the dirty and seedy neighborhood. Do your self a favour and look for a park bench to sleep on it would be better than this dump. We moved out and found somewhere else ,my advice is...
Read moreRobby's House is about a 10 minute walk from the train station. The area around the station is dirty & grimy. But, the neighborhood actually was great, with lots of good eating places nearby, a Carravaggio painting in the church down the street along with many other beautiful, historic places. Naples is a place like no other I've ever been--the food is SO good, cars are dented & parked any which way. It's true that you need to keep your personal belongings close. My cell phone was stolen on the train to Pompeii on our second day there. It's a very crowded train (with all the tourists heading to Pompeii) so it's a pickpocket's dream. The B&B was clean & roomy. It is a long way to the shared bathrooms, especially in the middle of the night. Breakfast was not great & the bath...
