Cala la Pasta in Naples is a charming and cozy restaurant that perfectly captures the warm, authentic feel of Italian dining. The interior is casual and inviting, with a lively atmosphere that reflects the spirit of Naples. This spot is popular among both locals and tourists, and it’s not uncommon to see a line out the door, especially during peak hours. Luckily, we arrived just as they opened and were seated right away — no wait, and service was quick and attentive.
We tried several dishes, and overall the experience was very satisfying. The Insalata della casa was fresh and flavorful, a great way to start the meal. The Bocconcini di mozzarella e pomodoro were also delicious, with rich mozzarella and ripe tomatoes.
The Carbonara had a rich, creamy texture and was well-prepared, but unfortunately it had a strong bitter note, possibly from the cheese or pepper, which overpowered the balance a bit.
The Bruschette miste (4 pieces) were tasty, but the bread was overly toasted, making it quite hard to bite into — it could have been more enjoyable with a slightly softer crunch.
The Ragù was exceptional — rich, slow-cooked flavor, and comforting in every bite. Definitely a dish worth trying.
For dessert, we had the Delizia al limone con crema ai limoni di Sorrento, and it was the perfect finish to the meal — light, refreshing, and absolutely delicious.
In summary, Cala la Pasta offers a genuine Italian experience with a variety of well-made dishes and warm, efficient service. While a few minor points could be improved, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would...
Read moreOverall experience: It was Sunday 8pm and I arrived without booking a table in advance. Upon arrival the waiter spoke good English, took my name and told me to wait outside until he calls my name. After approximately 10-15min, in which I had a small 0,33 beer that I paid directly for on one of the provided waiting chairs outside, I was called up and brought to my table. The menu is accessible on the table via QR Code. Different languages of the menu are available (English, German, Spanish, French and Italian) however, it is wildly (mis)translated but helps anyways to understand what you are ordering. I ordered the Pappardelle alla Bolognese without Cheese. After 15min of waiting the Pappardelle arrived. Unfortunately it came against the order with cheese which I told the waiter. He excused himself and I was informed to get a new one. I used the time for another small Beer and 15min later my food arrived. The Pappardelle was firm to the bite, well sized pieces of minced beef that comes with plenty enough sauce that leaves you with just the right amount to finish your pasta. The flavours were balanced. Upon paying, the waiter excused himself once more and invited me for the beer and did not accept the tip I was going to give him. The restaurant as well as the restroom is clean and simply but nicely decorated. I would give overall 5 stars since there was nothing wrong with the food and the mistaken order was made up with the invitation which leaves me with nothing to...
