5star hotel with a 5star arrogance level. This hotel has a bizarre rule of paying 100 euros each just to have a drink at the bar. You have to use this towards set snack menus and drinks?! Like most hotels around the world you can book in a table for drinks at the bar, or dinner/lunch reservations or usually just walk in without many questions asked. The beauty of hotels. That then would most likely see you staying with them in the future and tell all your friends and family to stay there too. That's how it works. For example five star hotel Le Sirenuse based in the heart of Positano is complete opposite to big headed Villa Treville in regards to attitude and so much more nicer, beautiful photos ops and the staff are so so friendly. We got to enjoy drinks and food there most times of the day. We have even booked to stay there next year due to the experience. This hotel however wouldn't even let us walk into the lobby without paying an entry charge because we may perhaps get to look at the lobby for free! And I saw the lobby and honestly it's no taj mahal and it doesn't require reception staff to also play security. But that's how crazy it was. Just so bizarre and quite frankly something unheard of for a 5star. I'd understand if it was a 7star hotel like when we visited the Burj al Arab in dubai. We have stayed and dined at many five star hotels but this hotel has a level of arrogance that was rather surprising considering the rest of the town was so friendly. The female staff member who came literally outside from behind the reception to basically ask us for an entry free. We were made to feel almost wrong for considering it was okay to visit for lunch and drinks. Sure if we were not to buy drinks or food i can understand perhaps, but we were happy to enjoy the afternoon there and didn't want to be pressured into a set snack or drink menu. When we mentioned that we were considering a bottle even, the staff member said, oh well let me email u in a few hours to see if you can change from a set drink menu to a set bottle menu. Set? Why a set menu?! By then however we lost our passion to visit the hotel and had found another beautiful spot minus the arrogance to enjoy the city. We came during the beginning of the season so it was actually really quiet. No hotel is that great, i dont care how Instagram famous you say you are (staff members own words?! ) And a rule whereby you have to pay 100s is not even a realistic fee and then to be told u can use that only towards selected items??? Atrocious! Terrible policy from management. There are beautiful views everywhere in positano, so don't be fooled by this egotistical hotel if you are after a scenic drink or meal. Try other hotels and even restaurants where you can use the 100 euros each on drinks and food suited to your preference and dietary requirements vs super limited canapé options at...
Read moreRoom: 5/5 uniquely decorated rooms, all curated with beautiful decor and breath taking views. Some rooms have bit of a walk up stairs- would not recommend for handicappers, but we had no issues with this. The steps were worth the view! The entire hotel was the most stunning I’ve stayed in. Decorated beautifully and curated uniquely.
Service: 5/5 due to small resort, very personalized experience. They even had a group chat which they responded to immediately. This included replacing the shampoo and body wash for my mother who has a severe gluten allergy. All employees extremely friendly and responsive and speak English fluently.
Location: 5/5 10minute walk outside of the heart of Positano. Complementary boat service to the city center upon request. Perfect for the stunning views of Postitano while also having a quiet and relaxing ambiance and easy walk into the heart of the city.
Cleanliness: 5/5 very clean, housekeeping came end of morning and for turn down. Constantly organizing and cleaning room. Common areas always spotless.
Food: 5/5 delicious cuisine at Maestros. Including accommodating to allergy and off menu items. Breakfast had a beautiful spread as well as menu options.
Value: 5/5 very expensive. A 5-star resort that is exceeds all expectations, but expect to pay the price for it.
Overall Vibe: 5/5 noted above, breath taking views and all areas of the hotel provide a magical feel. Very...
Read moreMy husband, son and I visited Villa Tre Ville for the day in early June 2023 on a recommendation from a GM in Rome. Wow were we grateful we took the suggestion! This was truly the most magical day of our weeklong trip to the coast. ||The private boat to the grounds of the hotel was seamless (and pristine!) and was a trip in and of itself, seeing the town of Positano and Praiano from the water. Upon disembarking, you walk through winding gardens that are growing fresh veggies, fruits, and spices for the kitchen - and are also covered in colorful flowers and vegetation. The aromas are something else! There are endless places for vistas of Positano, lounging, and the houses are immaculately and colorfully decorated. Despite the heat, the insides were well cooled. The food for lunch was the freshest, most delicious we had on our trip - and the chef/staff were all incredibly welcoming of us with our8 mo son who needed a high chair! Do not skip out on the mozzarella here. ||The manager, Martino, has done an incredible job of thoughtfully and creativity designing the spaces, focusing on sustainability, supporting a happy, passionate, and welcoming staff, and curating a pristine, memorable experience that encapsulates the calm and beauty of the Amalfi Coast. For anyone who can visit or stay, this is well worth the visit, and we cannot thank Martino or the...
