Ocean Bar in Positano is nothing short of a dream. Perched right by the water, it offers one of the most breathtaking backdrops you could imagineârows of sun-soaked umbrellas on the beach, the Mediterranean sparkling in the distance, and a vibrant atmosphere that captures the essence of the Amalfi Coast.
But what really sets Ocean Bar apart are the drinks. Coming from New York, where cocktails are often hit-or-miss and overpriced, I was blown away by the quality here. Each drink feels like itâs crafted with care and precision. The cocktails I triedâa frothy, elegant tequila-based concoction served in a coupe glass and a refreshing Casamigos margarita on the rocksâwere some of the best Iâve ever had. Perfectly balanced, beautifully presented, and incredibly refreshing under the Italian sun. These drinks arenât just good for Positanoâthey easily rival and surpass most of what Iâve had back home in New York.
To pair with the cocktails, the wood-fired pizza was a revelation. A classic Neapolitan-style pie with blistered crust, fresh mozzarella, and tangy tomato sauceâitâs the kind of simple yet perfect dish that reminds you why Italy is unmatched when it comes to food. Enjoying it seaside with a cold drink in hand was pure bliss.
Ocean Bar isnât just a place to grab a bite or a drinkâitâs an experience. If youâre in Positano, donât miss it. The combination of stunning views, incredible cocktails, and authentic Italian food makes it a highlight of the Amalfi...
Read moreVisited this bar while on holiday and unfortunately had a very frustrating experience. I initially ordered an alcoholic cocktail but realised within 10 seconds that I couldnât have it due to medication I had taken for sea sickness that day. I immediately told the staff and was initially reassured that cancelling the drink was âfine.â
However, about five minutes later, I was told that it couldnât be cancelled as âitâs on the systemâ and there was âno delete button.â I explained again that I couldnât have alcohol for health reasons, but they didnât seem concerned or accommodating. In the end, they made me a non-alcoholic version instead.
When the bill arrived, I noticed the drink listed was the one I actually received â meaning they had managed to remove the original cocktail from the system after all. So the claim that it couldnât be done was clearly false.
To make things worse, the original drink I tried to cancel was âŹ25 for a single cocktail â absolutely extortionate. The whole experience left a bad taste, as it felt like the staff were more interested in making money than showing any kind of flexibility or customer care.
Wouldnât return or recommend, especially given the prices and...
Read moreWent to this place knowing the prices were gonna be way too high, accepted that, thinking a beer was going to be max 10 euros, which is, all things considered, a scam. But then again, youâre in a European hotspot, fair enough.
Not expecting to arrive and there only being 20 people, of which most are freeloading of some old rich dude, their problem.
But charging 15 euros for a simple Peroni, and no it wasnât made of gold. Youâre not UNVRS / Pascha Ibiza, itâs a simple beach club in Italy and thatâs all it will be. Go waste ur money at Music on the rocks (which is terrible too.)
A cocktail isnât much better, apart from the fact that theyâre made good, well balanced and taste good, but 30 euros for 2 sips of espresso martini is madness.
Big shoutout to the curly haired bartender who remade my drink after I found a hair in it, he was the only highlight of this place, guy knows his drinks and has a good charm, if you visit, visit if for him, only reason this place gets 2 stars nothing else about this place is worth visiting.
Atleast the toilets are free, wouldnât have expected it from a place...
