Excellent Choice for a Walking Holiday.đ||We recently stayed at Sporthotel with Collettes walking holiday specialists, and it was a superb choice! đ° The hotel is situated on a hill, about 15 minutes' walk from the town center, but free shuttle buses are provided. We appreciated the peaceful location and the hotel's amenities, which were perfect for relaxing after a day of walking. đïž||Hotel Highlights:||- Clean, smart, and efficiently run: First impressions were excellent, with a welcoming atmosphere and spotless facilities.|- Amazing staff: The family-run hotel's staff were friendly, attentive, and took great pride in ensuring a wonderful guest experience.|- Panaromic Suite: Definitely worth upgrading to this room type!    Read moreSet in a stunning location the Sport Hotel certainly lived up to our hopes and expectations. We received a lovely welcome and all the staff were friendly and helpful without exception. I loved the traditional dress they wore. I wish they had worn name badges as I never found out their names. The food was exceptional (apart from the fact that I won't eat veal and on one night that was the only option. The alternative offered was an omelette which was very acceptable). The wine waiter was very helpful. We needed advice because the wine list was as big as a book! I must mention our waiter Vincenzo (I asked for his name) who was wonderful and remembered our preferences . I was sad he was moved to another part of the restaurant as I believe continuity is important to the guests. |Our room (307) was superb with a huge dressing room and bathroom and a glorious view from the balcony. It was absolutely spotlessly clean. The hotel is beautiful inside with so many stunning pieces of furniture and local crafts on display.|As mentioned it is a long walk up a very steep hill from Corvara , and there is a bus every half hour or so, but this does not run between 12.07 and 15.07. If you wanted to return within these times you would need to walk (or get a taxi?)|It sometimes gets very noisy as the bikers and Lamborghini's race around the hairpin bends - noise travels a lot in these mountains. |It must be wonderful to stay here in the winter season too and the hotel is well set up to keep it warm inside. We had exceptionally hot weather for June and there is no air conditioning so we were so hot at times making sleeping a bit uncomfortable. Maybe this is something the owners might need to take into account considering the impact of climate change? |Thanks for a wonderful stay. We would love to...
Read moreThere are some great things about this hotel and a few not so great||Everything was very clean||Our bedroom was lovely; big, with enough wardrobe and drawer space, big windows and a balcony|Our bathroom had super bathrobes, two washbasins, a bidet and a jacuzzi bath. But the shower was over the bath and the screen made it difficult to get into and out of the bath||There are two main blocks of rooms. Be careful on the stairs because some of them are too dark to be safe||The menu for the evening meal is on the table at breakfast â mark your options with a tick (and then do your best to remember what you chose when you sit down that night). Beware, they never have enough of every option so if you are in a group you are told â clearly instructed â thar you canât all go for the same thing, and the restaurant manageress was fierce. We found that very odd and couldnât understand why they offer things but canât stock enough to supply everyone. One night they didnât even have enough eggs for everyoneâs omelettes! Most of the time the food was absolutely delicious but some cooked dishes werenât as hot as weâd have liked and some were very, very salty||The house wine is good value â a litre of red or white for 12 Euros. We stuck to the red and it was very nice ||There are free cakes and apple strudel every day in the bar from about 3.00. The apple strudel is the best youâll find anywhere in Italy||Most of the staff are eager to please. They donât all have good English and we didnât have good Italian but that added to the fun of our stay. The local language is Ladinish, not textbook Italian||* Special thanks to Luca in the restaurant and a huge mention for PierLuigi in the restaurant and also behind the bar. They were particularly welcoming, helpful...
