We absolutely LOVED our stay here. Would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel to anyone looking to come to Rome. Docked them a star on "Rooms" because our towel hooks and the low flow toilet flusher were broken and wifi was spotty and inconsistent, but otherwise, 5s across the board.
Here's the full scoop for our stay:
LOCATION: Excellent. Situated in a square that has ancient ruins in the middle but isn't a tourist trap site so you get the charm of Rome at your front door but still the action of the city without the hoards of tourist you get being closer to, say, Trevi or the Spanish Steps. It is really close to the Pantheon but far enough (5-7 min walk) that the hoards of tourists taper off by this block. It was about within a 25 walk to really anywhere you'd want to be if visiting Rome to sightsee (except Vatican City which was about a 30 minute walk or Villa Borghese, which is about 30-35 mins away). We were able to easily get to places like the Colosseo/Forum, Trastavere, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and even the Spanish Steps. We didn't take advantage of the public transit because we walked the whole time but hotel is situated around the corner from a main bus artery with many lines/options. Very safe feeling at night too.
SERVICE/SAFETY: The staff were fabulous and provided great recommendations for just about anything you'd want. The hotel entrance is located off a big square and you walk through a courtyard to get there -- in addition to having 24-hour folks at the front desk, they lock the front door that faces the square/leads to courtyard at night and give guests a secure access code which adds to the safety element. When you get to your floor, they also have lists of restaurant recommendations too and the neighborhoods they're in/sites they are close too so you don't even have to ask. We ate at a few of them and they were lovely. We had a little bit of a temperature control issue with our room (too cold) which they swiftly fixed when we raised to the front desk. Also it rained a ton during 2 of our 3 days there and the hotel provided sturdy Umbrellas to guests to borrow - at no cost - which was great because my umbrella broke on day 1 so it was just a really nice, helpful touch.
ROOMS: The rooms were unique in that they felt like a room in a modern Mediterranean villa, and airy too. We got a "comfort room" which we were glad we did. It was 2 of us traveling and we had 2 small carry-ons and 1 larger suitcase and it was a hair tight. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for the rooms because there were a few minor (easily fixable) broken items in our room like towel hooks and the low flow toilet flusher, and the wifi was spotty. Otherwise the beds were comfy, and it felt more homey than hotel-like in the rooms. A lovely retreat!
NOTE: We did not partake in their breakfast option so could not rate that. It was a bit expensive (€17/pp) so we ended up at nearby cafes each day which...
Read moreI seldom pen down reviews, but my recent stay at Argentina Residenza Style Hotel has compelled me to make an exception. This isn't just a review; it's a warning to every potential guest considering a stay here.
Upon our arrival, we were met with a room that looked nothing like the promotional images. We were ensnared into a deceptive web spun with misleading advertisements and empty promises. But the worst part wasn't just the run-down condition of the rooms; it was the serious health hazard they presented.
My wife and I were subjected to an environment where mold was rampant. The overpowering stench of mold made my wife fall ill during our stay. Imagine our horror when, during our trip, I had to see my pregnant wife suffer due to the hotel's complete negligence.
I have attached multiple pictures here to showcase the lamentable state of the rooms we were presented with. One look at these photos, and you will be as appalled as we were.
Desperate to protect the health of my family, I was forced to book another hotel and pay an additional 500 euros. An expense that came out of nowhere because Argentina Residenza Style Hotel falsely assured us of quality they couldn't deliver.
This experience didn't just dent our wallets but also cast a dark cloud over what was meant to be a joyous occasion.
Argentina Residenza Style Hotel: I demand an immediate refund of the amount I paid. No guest should ever have to experience what we went through, let alone be financially burdened because of your failure to maintain basic health standards.
To potential guests reading this: I urge you to think twice. No discount or deal is worth risking your health and well-being. If you value your peace of mind and safety, look...
Read moreI am updating my review at the request of the hotel subsequent to leaving a poor review due to an unfortunate situation that occurred during our stay at the hotel. My initial review resulted in the hotel reaching out to me to resolve the situation in a satisfactory manner. With that said, there are positives to this hotel - the location is great, the rooms are quaint and have a lot of character and the breakfast was good. There are a lot of restaurants in walking distance to the hotel and don't forget to head down some of the side streets to find restaurants. The hotel is also in reasonable walking distance (15-20 mins) to many landmarks such as Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and the Coliseum. While it's probably possible to walk to the Vatican from there, we preferred to take a taxi due to the heat of the day. There is a taxi stand in very close proximity to the hotel. We also used the hotel to arrange airport and port transfer. Our driver, Phuong, was amazing so if you are lucky enough to get her, you are in...
