After getting a small pastry here I felt scammed. I clearly signaled to the waiter I wanted to buy one of the small pastries which I had just asked the price, but suddenly the waiter wanted to be "extra nice" and put another one in the bag while whinking at me. I could hear the cashier call out the original price I was set to pay to the waiter, and then the waiter reply "no" and doubled the price he called back to the cashier. Everything went fast and in italian which I don't speak, so I was dumbstruck and ended up walking out of there feeling scammed. Read moreWe arrived in Rome today from the USA. We wanted to take it easy after flying most of the day. Our hotel was just across the street from the Camerini IL coffee con tre "effe". We had a slice of pizza at a pizzeria and wanted to try some desserts. We walked into the Cafe and were met by Alberto. He instantly started to help us and provided information on the various pastries. We had many different things and they were all wonderful. My son and I had an espresso martini, and if you like espresso, you need to get one. Alberto took great care of us the entire time we were there. We couldn't have asked for a better first...
Read moreWe went for a drink after lunch at this cafe as it had good reviews on trip advisor, however we were very quickly disappointed. They brought over our drinks with three large plates of snacks including one of wraps, we thought this was weird but when we received the bill we saw why. They charged us 9 euros for each drink. Further to this when it came to paying the staff took ages to get the card machine ready and once it was it didn't work as the phone line was down, so they then sent me down the road to to get cash out. Overall I would avoid this cafe as there are plenty great cafe's...
