Don't waste your time! There are SO many better spots in Rome. In short - extremely long wait for our food (some of which came out cold), way oversalted pasta, didn't receive one of the ordered items, received one too many of bruschettas (and were charged for it), and on top of it we wanted to celebrate a birthday and they didn't bring out a dessert as they said they would.
The details - We were a party of 5 that came for an early dinner. It started out well - we got sat in a corner table by the windows, got some good house white wine and enjoyed browsing through the menu. After we placed our order, I added in a single order of bruschetta. For some reason we received 2 plates - we thought that they just divided up a sigle order for us (other places have done this). The bruschetta was good, although it's tough to mess that up. While waiting for our food, we were scheming to have a birthday dessert brought for someone in our group. We talked to the waitress to get a chocolate cake with a candle. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. It was OVER AN HOUR until we received our food. We did notice that the back room had filled up completely since we ordered, with what looked like a tour group. Our order should've been in first so that shouldn't have affected anything, but seems that it did. Now our food - one dish was cold (fried calamari) and two pasta dishes were really really salty. Also the mixed salad is apparently as large as a regular salad. We were so disappointed with what looked like a restaurant with so much potential. Don't...
Read moreCapitalism prevails in a sea of restaurants trying to present themselves as unique individual mom and pop shops. Fantastic quality and I, for one, welcome my future red tomato overlords when they expand into other countries and push inferior chains or lazy little spots out of the market. I tried two dishes here, the fried pizza and the margherita. Take their chain pizza margherita and drop it in any city on the planet and it would be a contender for the best pizza in that city. This especially rings true in Rome, which despite my previous expectation is apparently filled with mediocre uninspired pizza. Chewy, stretchy, perfectly leopard spotted crust, perfect bite and texture. Great ratios. I personally prefer a sauce with a little more texture and a plating that preserves integrity more, but forget all that noise, it is great. Clearly they have spent some time on the recipe for their ovens and are cranking out good stuff. The fried pizza wasn't the best example that I've had but was also fantastic after it cooled off. It could have been improved with slightly more careful folding and filling, or slightly longer cooking, but who are we kidding here- fried pizza dough can't really go wrong. When in rome, do as the romans do, and they are hitting the chain if you...
Read moreI sat at the restaurant with my friend and ordered a pizza, then i gave my phone to the restaurant staff for them to charge my phone. I was mindless and naive because i had a debit card and 50 euro behind my phone case. When i went to get my phone back to pay for the bill i noticed that there was no 50 euro behind the phone case. I then paid for the meal and discussed what happened at the restaurant entrance with my friend and we then went to the police car in front of the restaurant to tell them what happened. They told us to make a report at the Trevi Police Station, we then went back inside the restaurant to ask for the 50 euro behind my phone case and asked to see the camera records which resulted in them handing me a 50 euro from their case immediately, i then asked in confusion again if we can see the camera records and the waiter guy with short grey hair pretended as if he didn’t understand english when he spoke perfect english to us prior to this. We translated what we wanted and they said that they found a 50 euro bill on the ground and now they’re returning it to us. Mind you that we discussed if they stole the 50 euro or not in front of the restaurant entrance and they didn’t say a thing + there was no 50 euro on the ground in...
