In general, my stay at the hotel was so-so. The hotel is old but somewhat partly updated (by the way, it looks nothing like the photos on its official website!). Unfortunately, the hotel’s lobby seemed outdated, much like the super slow, tiny elevator (it couldn’t fit both of us - me and my partner - plus our 2 large pieces of luggage and one small carry-on, so we had to take the elevator separately) and the crappy-looking hotel floors.|My check-in process was disappointing. First of all, it was impossible to contact the hotel the day before and on the morning of my arrival. The hotel’s phone was always unavailable. There were a few tones at the beginning, but then it cut off like someone picked up and dropped the phone on purpose. When I mentioned this to the front desk lady, she pretended to be unaware and told me they had this issue for 2 days and were waiting for a technician to fix the phone. I did not buy this story. Because I couldn’t contact the hotel, I couldn’t make my major request - a room on a high floor with a city view. Of course, when I checked in around 6 p.m., I was told the only available room was on the second floor. Generally, I found the hotel’s front desk staff (and housekeepers) not very friendly or helpful. Every day, the front desk staff looked annoyed and angry, especially the girls. The guys had a slightly better attitude.|My Double Room was on the second floor. The room was not soundproof at all. I could clearly hear noises from the hallway and outside. I was especially annoyed by kids screaming and running up and down the hallway every single day. It is sad that their parents allowed them to behave like that inside the small hotel, and none of the hotel’s staff cared to address the issue. My room’s size was okay for 2 people, the room was ideally clean, and I actually liked its pretty design, including the colors. The room was obviously renovated, but some furniture pieces still had scratches and looked not “fresh.” The room had only one window, and because of the narrow street and a building right across, there was not much natural daylight. Plus, I could clearly see into the windows across, and they could see me, so I often had to keep the curtains closed and use the room lighting. I definitely hated the very small and outdated TV. The refrigerator was also old and had a slightly weird, not fresh smell. Luckily, the closet was big and could fit a lot of stuff inside, but the safe inside the closet was old and small. The Double bed was not very comfortable, including the awful pillows. Another issue in the room was not enough plugs; my partner and I struggled to charge all our gadgets one after another. The hotel’s Wi-Fi was not super fast. Sometimes I could not even upload a 1-minute video to Facebook or watch a YouTube video in high quality.|The bathroom was big enough, but the shower stall was super tiny and uncomfortable. The actual shower did not work well - the water pressure was weak, and the broken shower head caused water to splash around. The shower doors were not waterproof, causing the bathroom floor to flood every day. The toilet also had pressure issues. The bathroom towels were very small and of super cheap quality; they did not absorb water well. The bathroom amenities were of poor quality and smelled terrible. There was no body wash in the shower, only shampoo. Thankfully, the hairdryer was new and worked well.|The hotel’s location is great if you want to stay near the main train station of Rome - Roma Termini. But if you want to be in the heart of Rome, the location is inconvenient because a walk to the city center and all major Rome sights takes about 40 minutes. Using a taxi or bus to get to the center takes 15-20 minutes due to heavy traffic. The neighborhood around the hotel is kind of sketchy, with many homeless people and some suspicious-looking individuals, so I recommend being careful at night. It was also noisy outside the hotel during late-night hours because of drunk people. From the second floor facing Via Magenta Street, I could hear a lot of noise.|I stayed at the hotel for 6 nights, paying approximately $225 per night (during the New Year week), and I absolutely regret my experience and the money I wasted on this crappy hotel. My advice is to avoid this hotel if you plan to stay in Rome for many days. But if you need a place to stay for 1-2 days, this hotel could work for you. Just do not overpay for it like I did! The price for a standard Double Room should be a maximum of $70 per night, which is totally comparable to its basic quality. I personally will never stay at this...

Read moreWe have originally booked an other hotel of theirs, but we have been relocated to this one.
The location is really good. We usually just took one bus or metro and then just walked, same for the way back, sightseeing spots are easily reachable.
The staff is really nice and helpful. We have arrived in the morning, we just wanted to drop our luggage, because we were really tight on schedule. Right in front of us there was a bigger family, so we had to wait a lot, of course it wasn't the staff's fault. I know they were able to tell that we were in a rush and I started with the line 'we don't want to check-in, we just want to leave our luggages', but she still started with the whole check-in process, so I had to tell her again that we really are in a hurry. I get that you have to look up if the person actually has a reservation before them leaving their luggage, but doing the whole check-in process at that time it just seems unnecessary.
Now the room. The room we have gotten looks like none of the pictures. It overlooked an inner courtyard. It wasn't that bad, but not the nicest one either. The Wall painting was just splotchy, not something you would like to see in a hotel room. We have requested a twin room, the two single beds were just small, the first night I actually woke up to almost falling down. The mattress was pretty hard, not very comfortable.
The bathroom was pretty okay. They provide a lot of towels and they change them daily, which environmentally I don't think it's the best, I think they could limit the changes to maybe every other day or once a stay.
The cleaners make up the room evey single day.
The WIFI, it just doesn't work. We were on the 4th floor and the wifi did not reach, we had to use our mobile data the whole time, which was really unconvenient.
The lift is also a mess. It says maximum 3 people and it does look like it should work for at least 3 people, but most of the time it didn't even want to start when we were 2 in there. You cannot expect your Guests to use the lift one by one.
For the price we have paid, considering we were moved from a cheaper price, I would say it is okay, but I would definitely not pay the actual money they ask for this hotel. Even if you are on a budget, you can find...
