So we thought with my partner of paying €10 extra each to wait for about an hour till our train was there. I personally felt that I threw away those €10 to the trash bin, not worth of spending this amount at all for such a "service"! When we arrived the lounge was FULL, the guy at the reception "apologized" very indifferently and told us that in 5 minutes the next train would come and space would be freed so we waited. We waited for 5 mins, we waited for 10 mins, we waited for 20 mins like idiots standing by the entrance waiting for some seat to be freed but yeah of course nothing! The only "good" part from all this was the lady that was serving the coffee and the snacks, she was the only one to eventually care to come tell us that we could sit at a chair at the back corner (which was was just one chair for one person with a laptop but still that was a suggestion).. I could see that the poor woman was feeling uncomfortable because of the situation and that's why the 2 stars, I appreciate her attention at least, plus the cappuccino & croissants were awesome. And of course we got to stay for half an hour eventually instead of the planned approximate 1 hour.. Shame on the company for ripping off people like that, the area is too small (of course nothing close to what they advertise with their wide-angle lens) and apparently they didn't bother to provision situations like this, what if travelers are that many they can't find a place to sit?! Is this how they treat paying customers? Are we supposed to be standing with our luggage when having paid already for this cr@p? There could have been a system implemented that according to the clients' number that booked the lounge compared to the departures etc sets a limit & prohibits you to proceed if there is a possibility of no free space but you see, money is sweet... First & last time I did this mistake....
Read moreThe Club was existent at the location shown on multiple signs. Where it was supposed to be as a closed section next to Five Guys. Also, don’t waste your money on Club, the seats suck and we the WiFi signal was so weak that we couldn’t log on. Further, the train was delayed 35 minutes, yet their machine sold me a ticket like it was on time, and when I asked for a refund at the counter they offered only 80% back on a ticket purchased moments before. When I complained the person at the counter left to ask their boss and in the 10 minutes that took we missed a chance to book a ticket with another company. When they finally offered a ‘full refund’ it would just be as a credit for a future trip. Never again will I bother with Italo if I have a choice and I suggest you avoid them whenever possible. We ended up getting in almost an hour later than we could have if we’d booked booked with a competitor. This would have been an unacceptable for a coach trip but we spent two times as much for absolutely nothing - not a drink, not a sandwich,...
Read moreWe bought higher class tickets for our trip this time around, which came with lounge access. We were lucky that it was pretty empty at the time we came (9am). However, the amount of seats were very limited and I'm sure during the afternoon it would fill up quickly. There are a few pastry options including 4 different mini croissants and mini muffins as well as a coffee machine and some juice. This area is not self serve and has to be given to you by the attendant. I asked to get two pastries but when my boyfriend went to ask for two as well he said no because I already got some. I don't know if there is a limit on how much you can get? I did see a restroom inside but can't comment on the cleanliness as I didn't use it.
Personally I wouldn't pay extra for this lounge, it's just a perk if it comes with the type of train...
